Hello!

Posting to get info/ point of view of CAST MEMBERS or former CMS.

I did a college program spring 2014. I was living in an alcohol free apartment. My roommates brought alcohol in the apartment and were drinking. I didnt think much of it. Long story short - they posted pictures on social media, one took the pictures to housing. We ALL got terminated from the program for it. I wasnt even in the picture, but I was termed for not reporting it. The woman who terminated me said I could reapply in a year... its Fall 2015 and im on NO REHIRE status.... what.

Never allowed to work for Disney again because of a mistake during the college program that had nothing to do with my job for disney..

I guess my question is for anyone who has experience with restricted rehire/ no rehire. who should i call or any advice?

TY -

Unfortunatly on the CP we all signed paper work saying we read the rules and one of the rules is if alcohol is found in a non-alcohol apartment all apartment mates are fired and put on restricted hire.

What was your record card like besides the alcohol violation in housing?

I believe casting may help you if you want to get a regular position at Disney but due to the alcohol policy you may not be able to do another college program.

My advice, find another job. You were given a chance through the college program, you didn't abide by the rules. Disney has decided that you won't fit in their "mold".

What an outrageous mold where adults are expected to control the behavior of others. I like Disney, but I like it a little less knowing things like this.
I am guessing they were all under 21 - thus the rules

It is only if you live in Disney housing. That isn't a requirement for DCP. Also at least on my program they said it no less than 3 times during our first housing meeting that if you are in dry housing and you know alcohol is in you unit go let housing know or you will get caught and go home.

They may not all be under 21 but if you are over 21 and you decided to live in what they call "Wellness housing" you sign a paper saying you understand you can not drink in your apartment.

Also like I pointed out everyone signs on contract on their CP saying they know and understand the housing rules outlined in the booklet.

I had a friend go home for something Disney gave us because he took it back to his apartment knowing it was against housing rules. The rest of us kept it in our work lockers. Same was for light sabers etc. If you worked at DHs during Star Wars weekend you were told to keep it in your work locker.

You are going to get nothing but opinions from members of this forum that will more than likely not be the same as an HR representative of Disney. You should present your rehire question to them directly, as only then will you be dealing with factual information from people who actually make those decisions. Good luck!

Consider this a good life lesson and move on. For the rest of your life, you will come up against rules that you don't like. You will have two choices: #1. Obey the rules or #2. Disobey the rules and face the consequences. When you're faced with that choice in the future, remember what you have learned and be governed accordingly.

Thought the same thing, but, honestly, the amount of people who termed for this exact reason when my son was in the CP was very large. Probably a very popular term situation.

It is very popular. Also seeing if their profile age is is real OP is 25 now when means they were 23/24 on their program. That means they asked to be in housing with out alcohol and thus why they were termed for not reporting.

Disney has a long history of controlling employees . . .

No-rehire statuses very rarely get lifted, as far as I know. They take housing violations in the college program very seriously, especially those involving underaged people and alcohol.

If anyone can help you, it would be the casting office, but I wouldn't bet too much on it. I know for a restricted-rehire status, holding another steady job for 6+ months is the criteria, so if you've been steadily employed without any trouble since your termination that might help your case.

Tattle? You sign an agreement and notification is a term of this agreement. Everyone signed it, including the ones drinking. Sorry, but OP was wrong.
