So we all have difference experiences with them. I've actually had better luck with them than the fridges that many times froze all my food which had to be thrown away.
Bottom line what is in the room is what Disney provides. There is no menu plan. So guests can use the coolers, not use the cooler or bring their own. OR book one of the rooms that offer regular fridges.
Unless it is for medicine then I think they have a small supply of medicine coolers. But I would hope if you don't have medicine that needs it you wouldn't ask for one.

I think they have learned. The new rooms with coolers do not have doors covering or blocking them in.This is so true! We do this every trip whether it is a mini-fridge or a beverage cooler. We leave the cabinet door wide open and our stuff gets nice and cold. One trip, our fridge did not get cold so we called maintenance and they swapped ours out for a new fridge.
I just will never understand why they design the cabinets that house the fridges/coolers with solid doors. They need good air flow to work properly.
