Just saw this on the member site:

Pool-Hopping Update!
Due to anticipated high attendance, there will be no pool hopping to any swimming pools at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort, including The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, from March 21 through April 19, 2004. Members staying at this resort will have access to both the main Silver Creek Springs feature pool and the Hidden Springs villas pool.

I wonder if this is the end of poolhopping for good

Hopefully they will now enforce the real problem at WL/VWL which is FW guests and stay MK ones coming over for a swim

thanks

If they did this they probably wouldn't have to eliminate pool-hopping for DVC members.

Since we have never pool hopped, I was just wondering.....what do they do to monitor this? do they ask for your resort ID or something?

March 21 through April 19th are very busy times of the year. They ought to stop the people staying at the camping site from coming over to the pools there also.. At any rate I think we will see an end to pool hopping in the future.

We bought into DVC with the idea of pool hopping "forever." I know it's not guaranteed but we'll be sad if it ends. We typically pool hop once or twice during a visit, eat lunch and swim and rent boats. We always spend money we might otherwise spend offsite. We also visit the pools early in the day when they are NOT crowded.

DVC are you listening? I don't think members are the problem! Please don't end pool-hopping!

April 3-11 is already a black-out time for pool hopping. Adding March 21-April 3 and April 12-19 seems to indicate that something is "happening" at WL. I thought I recalled someone mentioning an event that had filled the resort.

We have kids in 2 different schools and their spring breaks never seem to match up, so that covers at least 2 weeks and that is not colleges either. One is the week before Easter and the other is the week after. Kind of screws up the idea of a spring vacation.

The truth is that the Silvercreek Springs Pool is too small already for the amount of guests at the Lodge during high season. Add the campers and it really is less than pleasant during busy season.
River Country used to give the camp ground a great place to swim and hang out- but now that that is gone they only have two rather standard pools. I wish they would at least open the kiddie area of RC again to give the campers a better option than the WL main pool.
I am sure that FW families have no idea they can't come to the Silvercreek springs pool as it seems so convenient by boat.
The VWL pool has a members only sign, but I can see how one could miss it.

Holy smokes!! I have never even seen this sign!
However, I have seen many pool / hot tub 'occupants' that were not even staying on Disney property, let alone WL or FW.
