I just called CRO to book the Polynesian Concierge level for July 2003 and the CM said that there are no rooms showing up on the entire concierge level. How can that be? I doubt it is completely sold out already...

Is there a timeframe when the concierge level is available? She did say that AKL concierge was showing up. (We are splitting 4 nights at POLY, 5 nights at AKL)...

What should I do? Should I book all the nights at AKL and then hope that the POLY concierge opens up and switch? Should I wait and see what happens?

Any advice?

Thanks!

Karen

P.S. Should I try a travel agency?

Was there none showing at all for the entire month of July or just the dates you specified? Either way, that doesn't sound right. I would just wait a month or two and try again.

Whoa, if they are rehabbing I need to know before I figure out my 2003 plans. But even if they are, wouldn't they switch it to another building?
Something is not right.

Did you double check that the cm put in 2003 and not 2002?
I have had that happen a few times. I say 2003 and they repeat 2003 and when the cm tells me no availability I say are you sure you have 2003 and usually they put in the wrong year.

I'll try again this morning... maybe it was too late for the CM (it was 10pm)... She kept saying "I don't know", "I don't know"... that bothers me when someone who is SUPPOSED to know says that instead of, "Hold on, let me find out the answer for you..."... I would rather hold for an answer than put up with I don't knows!!!

I will try in a little while and let everyone know what I find out... I didn't think it was too outrageous to plan for next July already especially since it is concierge level!!

So 'cited!!

I called again... there is no lagoon view concierge available from June 19th through September 1st... it is all blocked out... CM didn't know why for sure... just an FYI

We have decided to do reg poly lagoon view and AKL concierge. Oh well... maybe another year we can get into the poly concierge...

Thanks!

Karen

Interesting. Maybe that Tikiman guy can find out what's going on.:(

Hopefully Tikiman can get the scoop when he is down there--makes no sense to rehab during the high season! We are still tossing around trip ideas but I'll need to know the answer to this puzzle by early August.

I cant wait for more info about this to surface... we just returned from the Poly Con LV and would love to do it again next year...

Oh STTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE!!!!

My DD and I stayed at AKL conceirge at the end of April. Juanita a CM that used to be at Poly concierge told us the poly conceirge was getting a rehab. we didn't think to ask when this was taking place because she asked when our next visit would be and we said 12/03 and she said it would be completed by then. So maybe that why the block on those dates! Susan

I just left an email for Tikiman to see what he could find out.

Humm, I was kinda thinking about staying at the Poly LV Concierge the first week of August, and I don't want to hear this! Hopefully I'll be able to make a trip to WDW next summer (atleast for a weekend!), and I really wanted to stay at the Poly again!

Does anyone know anything about the resort rehab? I thought I had heard that they were renovating Aorteora a couple months ago (I don't remember where I read that - I think it was here on the DIS).

When I called about a month ago and was told the same thing about there being no rooms available for the week of July 9th 2003 I was told that they were not loaded in the system yet. She also checked the Contemporary to make sure and there were NO rooms at all listed for there. She said it would take a bit for them to all be loaded especially since they are changing the prices for next year. She did call down to guest services and this is what they told her. I sure hope she is right. We are planning our 20th anniversary trip and I REALLY wanted to stay in a Lagoon View Concierge.

 Oh no! Tikiman, please help! Next June is my 40th birthday and I told hubby, no party, I just want to go to WDW for 2 weeks. We were hoping to spend one week at Poly LV concierge.

Please post when new information surfaces. I won't be there until mid-August this year.

Thanks!

As far as I know there is no rehab scheduled . They just did one last year when we were there to each concierge room and only close off a few at a time. I also would not think they would ever shut down in the middle of summer to do rehab. That would be crazy. They have booked up a year ahead of time before (not often) but since I don't leave till next weekend I am trying to get an answer sooner. I will let you know when I find out. Don't be surprised if they are just booked up. We have done our reservations a year in advance. There are only 54 lagoon view concierge rooms at the Polynesian.

Aloha

Steve I called CRO tonight and there are NO concierge rooms available at all from the end of June to September both Garden View and Lagoon View. This time I was told they didnt know why and suggested I call the Poly directly which I did. They had no answers for me either. I sure hope you can get to the bottom of this. Thank you for taking the time during what Im sure will be a busy week for you to help find the answers to this.

I spoke with CRO again today...I had to call them for something else. The lady I talked to put me on hold and called down to guest relations. The story is that those rooms are just not downloaded to the system yet. No one seems to know why yet. It was suggested that I reserve a lagoon view room now then upgrade when those rooms are released to the system.

I'm glad that they said that they weren't loaded into the system. When I stayed at the Poly Concierge Summer of 2000, I made reservations 2 months in advance (I'll probably have to do the same for next summer! Poly LV Concierge was one of my only choices, along with YC GV Concierge & BoardWalk Standard view).
