no point in CP if doing 1900 park fare?

i just realized there is a lot of overlap in the characters here

1900 park fare - pooh, piglet, tigger, mad hatter, alice
crystal palace - pooh, piglet, tigger, eeyore

pooh is my favorite, so either way i'm getting to see him. i have an ADR for chef mickey's for later in the trip, but i don't know that we'll even bother with that because we can go to the epcot character spot and meet the fab 5 there.

what other character meal should we do? the goal was to be close to/in the magic kingdom. i don't like stitch, so 'ohana breakfast is out.

ho hum. what to do?

Well, an early CP breakfast gets you in the park before it opens and that is magical. And 1900 has Cindy, Prince and wicked step-sisters/mother for dinner if you want something different.

If it's just a different character experience then Garden Grill at Epcot has Chip/Dale and I think Tusker House breakfast is the only place where you can see Daisy.

1900 PF has different characters for breakfast and dinner. I haven't heard of Piglet being at the breakfast (nor have I seen him). The characters I have always seen are Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice and the Mad Hatter for breakfast.

We personally prefer the 1900 breakfast to the CP. We really enjoy the interaction with face characters over the masked characters. The food at 1900 PF is also much better, IMO. CP breakfast is the only meal we would eat there, the rest of the meals have been pretty awful our last couple of visits. If you want to be in MK before it opens, go with CP. If being in the park pre-opening isn't important I would go with 1900 PF.

Just another post agreeing with PP that the only place you can count on Piglet is CP (DD is big into Piglet). Haven't seen Piglet at PF in a long time (I think that was for dinner back before Cinderella took over - maybe '05 or '06).

I would recommend doing 1900PF for dinner. While, the breakfast is good, we much prefer the breakfast at CP (better selection). At dinner, Cinderella's step-mother & step-sisters are a lot of fun and you just don't get to see them very often in the parks.

CP for breakfast is one of our must-do's and the characters are the same all day there, so I would definitely keep that ressie.

i guess they are similar. CP is a bit loud, but the food is better for dinner. I would perhaps suggest Chef Mickeys. Food is a bit different and you get the best characters.

We are doing CP and 1900 for breakfast.

I am doing CP b/c I <3 Eeyore. I also want to get into Magic Kingdom early (ADR is 8:10 am)

I am doing 1900 for the strawberry soup, eggs benedict, my son's love for the Mad Hatter, my chance to see the Grand Floridian, and my chance to have a somewhat more "girly" character experience that would be acceptable to DH and DS (princess meal is out since I have only a son who doesn't even know the princesses)

We are also doing Tusker House breakfast to meet the Mouse and drink some juice.

I don't think I'll ever go back to Chef Mickey's...just not worth it to me. There are so many places to meet those characters and the food wasn't great.

i think we'll end up with CP breakfast to get into the park early and if dbf wants to skip epcot character spot, we will go to chef mickey's another morning. thank you for the input!

Mad Hatter was not at our breakfast the other day. We had Belle instead.

Piglet is not at 1900 Park Fare.

I did both on my trip and 1900 Park Fare was by far the winner! The only thing I really liked at CP is the Pooh's Puffed French Toast. It is also beautiful in there.

1900 Park Fare is amazing and it is $2 less expensive as well. $20.99

ahhh i thought i had everything settled, but everyone's experiences sound so good! my original plan was 1900 park fare breakfast and CP lunch. maybe i'll keep the ressies and just think some more

If that is the case your better off making an ADR for CM and then canceling it if you decide not to go instead of hoping by luck to get into a restaurant that is constantly booked solid. Besides, CM and the character spot are 2 different experiences since the characters are dressed differently. At least, that is how I justify it in my head. :rolleyes1

We ate at 1900 PF yesterday and Piglet was not there. We had Pooh, Tigger, Mad Hatter, Alice and Mary Poppins. Food was good and replenished often even though we had a later breakfast. It is smaller and quieter than CM and CP but we love those too and will be doing them during our September. I. Would say book them all and change them later if your plans change.
