No pigeons at WDW?

You know all the "electronics" that make the audio-animatronic characters move?

It's really just trapped pigeons inside each one! :teeth:

I can't say I've seen any pigeons in Florida. Just annoying seagulls...not sure which is worse.

I wonder how they keep the mosquitos out.

It's Disney Magic.

Pigeons are in Florida, and the most likely the seagulls have run them off. I have seen a few pigeons at DTD several times.

Sorry, but they do not keep the mosquitos out. They are there.
While they are there, they would be far worse if Disney did not work very hard to limit them. All guest areas are sprayed everyday for mosquitoes. They also operate dozens of mosquito traps and a lab to monitor the mosquito population and the spread of disease. If you compare the number of mosquitoes at WDW to other parts of central Florida you would see just how great of a job WDW does on the issue.

Pigeons aren't very common in Florida. I live here and can't remember the last time I saw one. Hawks and Gulls probably keep them in check.

also many areas they have bird houses for certain types of birds that eat mosquitos. check along the sassagola river you will see the bird houses.

WDW puts up a gigantic invisble shield over the whole property, preventing any mosquitos, pigeons, and any other animal in. It doesn't protect against rain, though! :thumbsup2

well, I've definetley seen seagulls and I think sparrows in WDW.
About the mosquitos: disney does a great job of keeping themunder control. I used to live in florida, and on summer nights I couldn't go outside without getting eaten. :) Which is not the case in Disney

I must have all the pigeons my way 'cause they're everywhere.

Yeah--I wanted one for a souvenir.

I noticed them all over at Universal and realized I'd never seen any at Disney.

No on said there weren't any in Florida...just that we/they didn't see any.

Does anyone know or have any idea why Disney doesn't do something about the bird problem in the Magic Kingdom? :confused3
It has gone past annoying straight to dangerous..... :sad2: :umbrella:
