No park trip, which resort?

I vote SSR too. I always say that if one day we go and don't do parks, SSR will be my first and only choice.

I love the BWV for it's closeness to Epcot and HS, so if we stayed there and didn't do parks I'd find myself longing to walk over to Epcot.

SSR is beautiful. It's like you're in a different place. And with DTD so close it's perfect for a non-park trip.

Two years ago we went to Disney for 10 days and split our stay between BWV and SSR. It was like having 2 separate vacations. It was wonderful.

Whatever you decide I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Just wondering for those that have done no park trips, where did you stay? And if you have done this at other resorts which did you prefer. There are of course many different factors to consider, including what you plan on doing while you are there. If you want to just hang around the resort and pool, or plan on resort hopping trying activities outside the parks.

I would think OKW and SSR would be good for such a trip, and so would BC with SAB and the proximity to BW. I would have a difficult time though being so close to Epcot and not going!

Well...

I would do BWV. There is a lot to do around the boardwalk and you can also walk to the mini golf course.

Wait, I would do BCV. You have SAB.

On, third thought - I would do AKV, you can spend hours watching the savanna and sitting around the campfire - inside and out.

Maybe I would do SSR, it is so close to DTD.

Well, I take that back, OKW would be my choice. The atmosphere is so laid back. Great music. A short boat ride to DTD.

Well maybe VWL is a better choice. You can take those awesome boats to the camp grounds and also to the monorail area.

I guess the bottom line is any resort is a good choice.

I didn't even think about pool hopping! That'd be pretty cool too. Is there any place besides SAB that you can't hop too. Can we only pool hop to other DVC resorts or can we go to any?

You can't pool hop to the AKL, but I don't know about AKV. When we did this a few years ago, we pool hopped to the Grand Floridian. We called over to make sure they weren't too crowded, & they said, "Come on over!" We spent half the day there & had a great time! I tried to find updated info, but wasn't having any luck. Maybe someone can correct me if it's changed. Have fun!

HH. Especially during the spring/summer months. So much for everyone to do just at the resort. Family Time at it's best. Biggest decision every day - should I go to the beach - the pool at the beach - or the pool?? Next biggest decision - what's for lunch? Or - is there a campfire tonight??

You have not fully experienced DVC until you have spent a week at HH and met all the wonderful CM's there, swung in a hammock, breathed in that salty marsh air, saw a dolphin outside your villa fishing, experienced a campfire, or a pool party. The activities at the DVC resorts at DW are pretty dim in comparison.
