No nonstop flights

Regarding the AA credit card, I’m pretty certain you do not have to actually use it to receive the free checked bags. I used another card in both September and December for AA flights and still received the free bag as a cardholder.

One thing about the credit card perks like free luggage, just look at the perks when you apply for the card. My JetBlue does give free bags, but it isn't the lowest cost card. For $99 though, me and my family traveling together all get free bags, so one trip and it pays for itself quickly.

We can't switch to BWI as we live in central NJ, so we mostly use Newark (or sometimes PHL, American, Frontier, Spirit). I miss using SW out of PHL though.

Southwest doesn't care about all the people that travel during the week and used non-stop flights out of PHL

We have always flown SW from Philadelphia to Orlando, but the landscape seems to have changed a great deal in the past year. There don't seem to be any nonstop flights any more. Is SW just not flying nonstop, or is it likely they will add nonstop flights? We're traveling in August. I have looked at Frontier, but the upcharges are ridiculous.
WE always fly Delta from Minnesota and have never had a problem. However, there are fewer direct flights and the number of any flights is about half what it was before covid. I have friends who have had trouble with flight changes and cancellations. I think it's probably like that everywhere.

Fly Allegiant from Allentown to Sanford Airport. It's my preferred way to travel to PA now. Allegiant is a discount airline but they are nice and clean and there planes are full sized. Both Sanford and Allentown airports are so much more low key and more pleasant to be in. The security line at Orlando airport is like another huge line at Disney. But the Sanford one is fast and efficient.

They’ve definitely cut down the number of non stops from here in Chicago as well and the flights overall have doubled in price for one way.

When I had the AA card, I got free luggage when I used my Corporate Card on Business trips. It’s connected to your frequent flyer number.

No non stops in August from Grand Rapids, Michigan either. And the prices from Detroit and Chicago are not any better, and have only a few non stops. Not that long ago you could get non stops from either of those places for half the price of Grand Rapids. Not anymore.

Allegiant is great when things go smoothly, but if a flight gets cancelled, it can be days before you can get another flight. It’s not a risk everyone is comfortable with.
