No more Stanby line for A&E?

It is and online as well. You can still choose to have ticket media printed and sent to you. We still get the plastic tickets from Disney. Of course we don't book as a package.
I had a 5 day park hopper I bought at the disney store. I stopped at the magic kingdom ticket window (in May this year) to make sure it was linked to my magic band. The CM told me it was and kept the plastic ticket. I asked for it back and she told me I could not have it since it was linked to my band and also told me the plastic tickets cannot be used for admission anyways. I knew she was incorrect but I didnt feel like arguing. Sure enough my MB didnt work at the gate. Off I go to guest relations. I had saved my receipt from the Disney Store. They reissued the plastic ticket, they told me to hold onto it just in case the MB didnt work again as it IS good for admission at the gates. The MB and ticket are interchangeable either can be used for admission AND fastpasses. Folks, they really need to get their act together and stop creating confusion.

The idea of more time to shop or eat is interesting. I think that we can all agree that people can only eat so much and most likely won't spend any more time eating than they ever have. So that leaves shopping which isn't particularly appealing when it's mostly the same merchandise everywhere you go.

Odd.

Off topic sorta... So probably my only prayer is my last day... Will be there 10 days so my last day will only be competing with other people who are starting same day as me and staying 10 days right?
I don't think there is a 10 day limit now. Onsite guests can book for their entire stay at 60 days so some people staying 14 days would have been able to book 4 days before you for your day #10. It use to be +10 days for onsite but that recently changed with fastpass and ADR. I am going in December for 2 weeks and was able to book all 14 days of ADR's at my 180 day mark. So some (but not a lot I imagine) might get to book before you.

Are people mad about not getting to stand in line? I guess I don't understand what all the fuss is about. This sounds like a sweet deal.

I think some are upset that it will be a mad rush to grab all these Fancy Legacy FP tickets and they may be gone for the entire day in the first hour or two of park opening meaning if that is your only Magic Kingdom day you are SOL to see Anna and Elsa even if you were willing to wait an hour or two.

The only thing that interests me at this point is HM merchandise. I have bought my fair share of various old style mesh-backed trucker hats with various characters on them but then I realized that I didn't really like them in the 80's ( a little slow on the uptake there on my part).

They are converting the Yankee Trader store near the entrance of HM to a dedicated HM souvenir store. But just so they can be par for the course, it has already been delayed.:rolleyes1 We bought a lot of HM merchandise at DL in February. My favorites are the candelabras that we have on our fireplace mantle. Call me a sucker for Gargoyles.:)

Less stress? ;) Perhaps it's the fact that if they don't get a FP or "legacy FP" that they are SOL, regardless if they were willing to stand in line for 3-4 hours? See how the stress can be? What would your kids think?

Ah. Got it. :)

On vacation we like to sleep in and go w/the flow. Whatever park we are in the mood for that morning is where we head. If we get to that park and it's packed we hopped to another. We would also pick where to eat the day of or at least we could change if we switched parks. We also took advantage of evening EMH to it's full extent. We even use to pay for it. Obviously Disney hates travelers like us! We've dealt w/ the changes and still had fabulous trips. However, our very soon trip is about to send me over the edge. We cannot change any dining the day of. We had to pick our park by 60 days out b/c of FP+. We locked in our dining & FP+ and then Disney changes EMH 2 times less than 30 days out. Part of our group have 4 day military tickets and those 4 days were completely planned around evening EMH. Since Disney changed it now 2 of 4 days are no longer EMH days. Those days cannot be changed b/c of dining and FP+. Finally, now this. We never wait in crazy long lines and we do everything. We just wait until everyone goes home. We LOVE the magic of Disney at night. Even TSM would say 60+ min but it never was in the late evening. We would wait maybe 30ish min. To take away the stand by lines for anything makes me furious. We will never get any of those new paper passes b/c we don't do rope drop. How in the world is this even close to fair to shut down the stand by line. Someone who was there please tell me this isn't the case. Sorry for the long vent.

Retro style is style that is consciously derivative or imitative of trends, modes, fashions, or attitudes of the recent past. It generally implies a vintage of at least fifteen or twenty years.

Personally makes me think about another park where their vaunted attraction closes 3 hours before the rest of the park closes on a regular basis. I guess the guests that got to the park after 7pm were SOL as well even though they would have waited 3-4 hours.

I could have written this myself. So true. We are supposed to know which ride we want to be on 60 days in advance..... where we want to eat 180 (!) days in advance...... and Disney can't even schedule EMH 30 days in advance.

Ah! But by then you've put all that time and work into getting your ADRs and FPs so they've got ya! They know we're in deep and still going to go.

I I know you didn't but I think we forget that we who stay onsite are only a percentage of guests. People who show up at the gate and pay premium prices to get in are at a disadvantage how are they to know about pre selection of fastpasses which they cant select anyway.

Actually...everyone is at a disadvantage when on-site travelers can't get a FP for A&E because they're already gone before their window opens up. I feel bad about off-site people who can't stand in line, I'm paying a premium (aka: double the hotel rate) to stay on-site and I'm in the same boat.
