I think this can be considered news. The last half dozen times we visited Ice Station Cool, we noticed there was no "snow" inside the igloo. During each visit, we asked CMs inside what happened to the winter scene in the walkway, and only once did we get an actual answer, which was, "it broke awhile back and we don't know if and when it will be fixed" I'm wondering if Coke is ready to pull the plug on the whole thing. I've always thought it was rather odd that you would receive some consummable product for free at Disney. And it has been there for quite a long time now. Anyone seen snow recentley? Another thought is that maybe people were slipping and falling on the wet, snowy surface, and voila! lawsuits! I've seen young people getting carried away with snowball fights quite often. Maybe someone was hurt during a particularly vicious battle.

May be the snowball fight thing. There hasn't been any snow for a while.

It seems to me that this was brought up a year or more ago, also. The posters at the time cited CMs having talked about the slipping and sliding/moisture problem.

That`s too bad! I really liked taking people through there on hot summer days and having them be all like; "OH! Snow!". Now they are all like: " OH! Coke from China...gross."

Nothing beats telling your brother-in-law to try the Beverly cause it tastes SOOO good :rotfl:

I made my kids try it when we were there a few weeks ago... DD is certain that it's made out of nail polish remover... am I a bad mom or what???

2 older ladies tried to pull that trick on my ds this weekend. He knew better, he had tasted it years ago.

The snow has been gone for a long time. I've also noticed out of service on many of the machines. I was wondering too, if ice station cool is slowly being phased out?? I hope not!

Oh, you mean "Dry Station Lukewarm?" Been there. Nice enough place. Haven't igured out why that caveman hasn't started to melt, though. And, that cast member really needs to reconsider that attire. That big coat is a bit much for nice pleasant temperatures.

Actually, if you keep drinking it, it really does taste good. I know it's awful at first - that boomerang aftertaste - but for some odd reason you'll drink it one day and like it.

I don't recall the thread, but I remember the slippery floors inside the station. Now the problem is just the opposite. With so much spilled soda on the floor it's like walking on flypaper.

i think it is the slipping thing
i hate all the cokes there i think they need american coke to wash down the bad ones

Just got back and was told "there won't be any more snow" (not much of an explanation) :confused3 Also, many of the spigots were broken, which caused excess crowding at the ones that were working.

Also, for some reason, wheelchair bound guests were using the stations in the center instead of the ones at a lower height around the perimeter :confused3

If they ever do decide to update this attraction, I feel they need to add at least one "diet" soda. It's a shame that all the diabetics that visit EPCOT can't participate :guilty:

Sure they can. Only for them Ice Station Cool will be considered a thrill ride.

There is one diet soda there. Can't remember the country, but it doesn't taste that great. My mom only drinks that one when she goes, she claims the others taste too sweet.

When was your Mom last there? We just got back and there is no diet soda at all :guilty: Went and spoke to 2 CMs and they said they can't remember there ever being a diet soda there :confused3

I thought Beverly was technically a diet soda.

Every soda there had sugar in it. We spoke to 2 different CMs and they told us that the Ice Station does not feature diet soda of any kind. I'm going by what they told me ~ (plus, I didn't see any/taste any) :confused3

Uugh! If the products were actually something people would take more than one sip of, then they should worry. But I've never seen anyone filling up their Souvenier Mug in there! :crazy2:
However, Disney would make a profit by placing an American Coke fountain in there for, as one DIS'er Peter Pan 217 suggested, washing down those other horrible International Coke products!

I think the only one there I can say that doesn't make my lips cringe is the one from Germany. But even it doesn't make me want to fill my mug.
