I did a plate signature one Nov 3-10th. I only needed the one thing done as we have done so many in the past.... but no issue other than they didn't use the second marker I sent. Turned out great anyhow.
While it's cool that Disney does this, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets discontinued. The great thing is, even if it does, you can still get most of the signatures yourself by standing in line to see the characters!

But I'd really like to get a signed photo matte. When I was in Chef Mickey's last time, there was a woman at the table next to me getting one signed and it looked fantastic!
. But seriously, if you're planning on displaying it and want perfect signatures, you might just give it to GS. I'm totally with you on not wanting to impose or take advantage of CM's time, but in this case I think it's the best option. And I think DCL understands that. It also makes their character lines move faster because they have it down to a science on the ships!Eek. I hope not. I just ordered embroidered pillowcases for our Easter cruise for Christmas presents. Cannot see this being true. Disney would need to give warning or there would be a lot of others in my position who would be pretty ticked off.
I really don't understand the appeal of signatures to anyone other than a child meeting the characters. C'mon folks - your items are being signed by people. Different people. Normal people. Might as assign a character to each member of your family and pass a photo mat around for all to sign.
Little kids getting sigs from live characters I do understand as I did that myself 30 odd years ago. But I really just don't see what's magical about asking CMs to sign a bunch of stuff out of sight and out of costume.

I would imagine it will stop at some point, too. A few someones will ruin it for everyone by complaining about the number of signatures or the placement of signatures or something and then demand Disney reimburse them for their item.
