No more pooh at Crystal Palace

I think it would be short-sighted to remove one of the core Pooh characters from the CP character meals.

When you made your reservation, you should have been told, "Character lineup subject to change without notice". If they change, they are under NO obligation to tell you in advance.

thanks for the info - useful thread...

this seems useful information...thanks for sharing...

see ya...
:) :rolleyes1 :dance3: :laundy:  :hippie: :cool1:

Now, a pirate meal would be nice though.... Just think Ladies- lunch w/ Jack..

Actually they could kinda turn Liberty Tavern into a Pirate themed Character meal couldn't they... **ponders**

From someone who remembers when CP was a cafeteria style restaurant...;) Here's my thoughts:

1 - I could see them moving other fab 5 characters (or worse fairies **shudder**) into that space without much of a rework. I mean CP isn't exactly all poohed out. Just topiaries here and there.

2 - While I really DO love poohbear, I think there's too much of it in MK already. I mean there's the ride, the playground, the meet and great area AND CP on top of all that. Nixing it for Mickey and the gang might be cool change of pace.

3 - This REALLY is a hard to believe rumor anyway. I mean it's SO popular. Disney will lose out in the long run, because WE will lose out.

I agree that the Fab 5 would be cool, but there won't be a Fab 5 in the Magic Kingdom because of the policy for Mickey. I have a friend who went down as part of a TV show production and they were given a special tour and got an almost impossible private meeting with Mickey. As it was explained to her, though other characters can be in two spots at one time in any park, this is never the case for Mickey. Mickey can only be in one place at one time in each park. They couldn't have Mickey doing a Castle stage show while he was touring Crystal Palace. It's a bummer, but I would guess that this is also the reason that it was just Minnie at LTT.

If they start another girl orientated character meal with the faries, this mommy of 3 young boys will finally call UNCLE!!

Oh man - I'm right there with ya! I have a 4, 5, and 36 (meaning the hubs) year old boys. :rotfl: I actually think a pirate type theme one would be an AWESOME idea! I mean disney totally caters to the girls all the time with those darn princesses everywhere... Why not something for the boys too? pirate: ARRRrrr!!!

We ate at LTT this past Tuesday (12/16). I asked our waitress why they were stopping the character meal. She was sure it was because of the money, and she was upset. She fears that no one will come into the restaurant without the characters. She suggested a letter to the Walt Disney Food and Beverage Department couldn't hurt matters.

I wouldn't mind the CP without characters. I've never been a big fan of the character dining, anyway.

Without the characters the tables would turn over much faster.

I'm not a big fan of character dining. I remember when CRT had regular dining and the food was much better.

No official confirmation on this.

But I might actually go eat there if they get Pooh out.

Ditto. We would finally perhaps eat at the CP. :thumbsup2

Never been a fan of Pooh (or most of the friends) for whatever reason. I can sypathize with all those who like Pooh and want them to stay at the CP, though.

CP w/o characters would be ok from our perspective. Just as long as they don't turn in into ANOTHER PRINCESS meal..... Now, a pirate meal would be nice though.... Just think Ladies- lunch w/ Jack..

that would work for me!

Hmm. We love CP and would be thrilled if the price went down because it was no longer a character meal. We wouldn't pay the same amount if the interaction wasn't there. My boys outgrew Pooh a long time ago and it would not affect us either way. This is the only place I feel that way about. We did LTT last time and had a great time with the characters. Probably wouldn't do it again without them unless the price was significantly less.

Mary

I still wish they would do a more boy friendly character meal, like Capt. Jack, Peter pan, Hook, etc.
