No More Pal Mickey Rentals

Starting December 1st, you will no longer be able to rent Pal Mickey, BUT do not cry! He is still available for the purchase price of $56.33. There will even be a special edtion Pal Mickey for the Happiest Celebration on Earth in May 2005, and a Pal Mickey costume line in the Summer of 2005.

What's that you say Mickey? There wasn't grass on Earth when the dinosaurs roamed? Why, no, I didn't know that. Aren't you just a little bundle of information.

I'm glad I decided to go ahead and by my daughter one for Christmas! She so wanted to rent one when we were there. I told her she could do it next time. Got it on e-bay for $45.00

Drats!!! I wanted to try out Pal Mickey before buying!

I know we'll probably love him, but with 4 kids, I'm sure they are all going to want one and I was hoping to rent first to see who really, really wanted one. Bummer!

FYI. I found info on another thread about a Disney Store in FL (sorry forget the name) where they have Mickey for $27.99 plus $10.99 s/h. I ordered mine today, CM was very friendly & helpful and Mickey's on his way to me! The ph # is 954-846-7161 -hope this helps someone!

WOW I just got a Pal Mickey for $60.00 on Main street...do you think they would take him back???? He has NOT been programed yet.....I would like to save the money on him,,and since I live real close to the SAWGRASS MILLS store. I could just go there and get on!!!! Does anyone know if Ihave the box,and all would they take it back???

If it's unopened, unused, and you have the receipt, I would think they would (depending on how long ago you purchased it). I have taken things back to stores in DD before without a problem. I wouldn't think the stores on Main St. would be any different if you meet the requirements of their return policy.

This vexes me, I am very vexed.

I was going to buy a Pal Mickey for this nex trip, but with version 2.0 on the horizon, I figured that I would hold off on buying one for this trip and just rent one for a bit and buy one on my spring trip. Now I can buy the "old" one for a really good price or suck it up and wait for spring for version 2.0. I guess they stopped renting so they could wait for new stock? I wonder in renting will return after version 2.0 is introduced?

I'm still bummed they stopped renting them!

I wonder if not renting them will cut down on sales. I have heard how wonderful they are from here, but if I just went to the parks and saw him for $60 and did know/understand how they work and how great he is supposed to be, I probably wouldn't shell out the $60. I imagine alot of people who rented weren't planning on buying until they used it and appreciated it.
