I do believe they are already doing a lot of that, including helping people that have lost jobs or income due to the problem.

Yes. Hate to be a downer, but there still are a number of issues to be dealt with, such as the distinct possibility of the oil reaching as far as the Georgia and Carolina coastlines.

True, they have been doing that to some degree but there are a lot of people that have lost income in an indirect way. Servers that work at the beach restaurants that have had their tips and hours cut because there is hardly anyone to serve. On my local beach July 4th is a huge weekend for business and traffic on the beach is normally insane but this year traffic was no issue and at times nonexistent. There are people that have had to close restaurants because of no customers and the help from BP isn't going to bring back all of that money that they invested or could be earning. The people that make a living on beach rentals aren't seeing the bookings that they have had in the past and they aren't all being helped by BP. Sorry if I am ranting but the beaches that I grew up on and the way of life for many people that I know has changed drastically due to this and may not return to "normal" for quite a long time.
