no more mcdonalds!

Yea this is old news but great news neverthess!!! I wish they woulg get rid of all corporate sponsorships in the park. It seems very tacky to me!

That is how Walt was able to afford to build Disneyland. ABC tv and corporate sponsors.:surfweb:

I'm sure there are plenty of corporations pounding on the door to have access to a captive audience.

I have an awful memory of our first trip to DL as a family when I think of these McDonalds fries. My husband threw a huge tantrum when I bought a pack for $4. I will never forget the price because he made such a big deal out of it lol. In fact, on our last trip he even said, (about us having money saved up) "And you can buy as many fries as you want!"

3 dollars I think, maybe plus tax? Or maybe they dropped the price.

Corporate sponsorship is fine, tickets would be sufficiently pricier and some rides wouldnt get built without it, like Indy to name one at DL.

They were definitely $4 in Jan/Feb. '06. I made so many references to it, even after the trip. "Remember when you made a huge deal out of the $4 french fries I got on the last day?" Probably not very healthy on my part, not to just let it go lol. It just stands out in my mind.

The fries used to be around $2 per box when they first started selling them. Since then, it's raised to $3 per box. We go very often and my ds (autistic) has to have them, so I buy them a lot. I've never paid $4 for a box of fries. We did not go in Jan/Feb 06, though, so maybe they had a short price hike? I know we were there in March 06, though, and they were not $4.

I think that the fries were $3 in Nov. of 2007 but I may be wrong... all I know is when my family stopped for $5 ice cream bars at California Adventure Park in Nov. 2006 on an unseasonably HOT MELTING day, I didn't like it at all... the other 2 in my family received Mickey Mouse ice cream treats, and I bummed about 1/3 of our 4 year old's strawberry fruit freeze treat which was awesome beyond words on such a HOT day, but TOO terribly expensive. Taking out McD's fries stand isn't likely the best idea; sure it's not heart healthy, IS bad for you... BUT - we don't eat like this all the time, and when we walk 'miles and miles' the fries give us some sort of McSuper McEnergy, I swear!! :rotfl:
So, from now, on, 2 churros split between the 4 of us... But methinks on our next trip I'll have to split (gasp! :scared: ) 3 of 'em, as our son will be almost 12 on our next trip...
Anyway, we always carry in 3 or so of the oatmeal raisin cookies ;) from the McD's on H. Boulevard, and it makes a nice complement to a lunch of 2 kids meals and 1 adult meal split between 4 of us in our family.

I will certainly miss that smell of the fries, but the churros  should more than make up for it! :flower3:

Yes you are wrong.... Guess how I know! :lmao:

All riiighht, a gal after my own heart - you saved your receipt, right? :lmao:
Moi aussi. I tend to save things like that... I think in my mind, $4 for a huge box of fries was far more reasonable than paying $5 for an ice cream bar I might normally pay $1 - $1.50 for. Perhaps I blocked out the $4 price, the way it blocked my arteries??

Further edited to add: Whoops, I see now, my original posting stated Nov. 2008 and of course Nov. 2008 has not taken place yet... Unless, I am a pro at - TIME TRAVEL!!! ;) Hmmmm???
