I call them Kleenex. I just looked and we have the brand “ Scotties”.

Scotties is kind of odd. Kimberly-Clark bought out the Scott Paper Company and a lot of their brands were maintained like Viva paper towels and Cottonelle TP.

It looks like Kimberly-Clark discontinued production of Scotties but licensed the trademark. Production is from different companies and with different logos in the US and Canada, but they still own the name.

It's Kleenex at our house. We usually buy Kleenex brand but currently working through a pallet of Kirkland brand from Costco.
How's the comparison? We've been buying the Kleenex at Costco (both regular and the lotion) and I try to get it if I can when it's on sale. Do you find a difference between Kirkland and Kleenex in quality?

I pretty much called them Kleenex no matter what brand. I'm sure every now and then I'll say tissue but it's pretty much kleenex.

I think Kleenex might be a bit softer but Kirkland isn't bad. I think we just grabbed the Kirkland stuff by mistake.

You won’t be missing much without Kleenex. They’ve redesigned the boxes & they’re so ugly. I have bought Kleenex brand for as long as I can remember. But I am now trying out other brands. I can’t look at those ugly boxes in my rooms every day.

But even tho I’ve bought Kleenex for years, I refer to them all as tissues.
OMG, this is my wife, totally. We go to Walmart first, and then and our local chain grocery store every week and every week my wife checks the Kleenex aisle at Walmart, and if they have those redesigned boxes, which they always are now, she moves on. Our local chain grocery store always seems to have the old style boxes, but they are more expensive, but my wife refuses to buy the new Kleenex boxes.
They are Kleenex in our house no matter what brand they are, but my wife won't buy any other brand unless she her allergies act up, then she buys Puffs. But she always makes it known when she opens a box of Puffs because we both use Kleenexes to clean our glasses, and the lotion on Puffs leaves your glasses more smudged than when you started.

Thank goodness, I can tell my husband not the only 1! I’m sure he think’s I’m nuts. Every time I see those ugly new boxes, I think of an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. Ray buys bad tissues in an ugly box & Marie comments that the right tissue box invites you to use them. And I think, well nobody’s gonna want to use tissues from these ugly Kleenex boxes.

I’m trying different brands now. I have a box of Puffs right now that’s not bad looking. And I had a box from Target that I liked. And the tissues were fine.

DH uses cloth handkerchiefs, I use tissues. Right now, it’s Kleenex “ultra soft” that I have at home.

I have always referred to tissues as Kleenex. I always bought ultra Kleenex but it wasn’t always available at Costco. They only had Kirkland- Costco brand. But it was also ultra (softer/thicker) and I see/feel no difference. I always seem to have sniffles. Probably slight allergies. Not heart broken about Kleenex leaving since I can get a good alternate. Apparently Canadian companies are pleased and it will improve their sales.

Have always called them tissues. Maybe it’s regional? This may sound weird, but I like other brands better than Kleenex, because of the box design. Kleenex has the plastic sleeve over the opening and tissues are overlapped, so you have to pull them out one at a time and then the next one pops up. I actually prefer a larger opening with no plastic (the long boxes, not cubes), so I can take one tissue or take a stack to put in my purse/pocket. I most often buy Puffs.

I say tissue and I buy whatever brand is on sale.

My mom says Kleenex for all tissues, which many people do. I used to say it as a kid and broke myself of it as an adult. To me, saying Kleenex for all tissues is like saying Pepsi for all colas. To each their own 🙂

I use Kleenex and tissues interchangeably. As far as buying, I am not brand loyal and will buy Kirkland/Costco brand, Target, puffs and Kleenex. All of those are fine. My only requirement is that the boxes must be square/upright not rectangular. The longer boxes take up too much space in the little areas I am trying to put them.

I say both interchangeably. I prefer Puffs Plus with lotion if I'm realllllly sick because they are just so soft. I made the mistake of grabbing one to clean my glasses - PSA: Don't do that!

I've never considered myself a germaphobe in the slightest but the idea of cloth handkerchiefs and shoving a used one into my pocket skeeves me out!

We say tissue or Kleenex pretty interchangeably in my home. I usually buy whatever is cheapest (per 100) when I'm shopping- in fact, I bought tissues yesterday. It's Hannaford white unscented facial tissue (Hanny's being a big Maine grocery chain). DH just asked me, "Did you open a new box of Kleenex?"
We don't use Puffs or any of the tissues with lotion in them, as everyone except the resident 7 year old wears glasses. NIGHTMARE if you clean your glasses with a lotion-saturated tissue!

ETA: We use Kleenex, BandAids, Jello, Tums, Dockers, Popsicles, Vaseline, etc. Usually the store brand!
