No more characters at the Poly?

Hi,

When we visited the Poly in Dec '01, we stumbled upon Mickey and some friends at the GCH. It was nice having the characters so close, with small crowds.

Well, in readying about EE on allears.net, it sounds like they have stopped that practice. Rather, they have more characters available at the EE park of the day.

Is that correct? We are not early risin' type of folks, and enjoyed our stroll to the GCH to take a peak.

For a while after 9/11 Disney had discontinued the early entry, and substituted the Character Caravan. I do not think that the Caravan really went over that big, and there was a big fuss to bring back the early entry.
The compromise was a hour for the early entry as opposed to the hour and half it had been and more characters in the parks.
