Wow, I really disagree. I've had some amazing vegetarian meals. I've never gone hungry. Palo was more challenging and not overly impressive, but in terms of the MDRs, I've always been very very happy.

We must have different tastes! LOL We loved our meal at Palo. The gnocchi was incredible, and when the chef found out we are vegetarian he whipped up an amazing pasta dish. They even prepared a vegetarian antipasto appetizer for us.

Well, maybe I need to give it another try then, because I was really not impressed. I just picked at the couple of things I could eat off the antipasto and my meal was meh. I'm not a gnocchi fan, though.

I haven't budgeted it for the next cruise, however, so we are just going to stick with the MDRs. I do occasionally eat fish, though so that does help a bit.

Obviously the cruise line is going to talk up their offerings when advertising their product.
But is it now at a point or should it be required that they follow that with "almost" and "and much more" statement with a disclaimer asterisked next to it, since they appear to be on a campaign to reduce products and services after people have booked their cruise?
Whilst it is in the cruise contract that services, offerings and sailings, if at all, may be changed without recompense, is it not misleading to the customer?
How can someone purchase a product with confidence when the cruise line has the ability to change that product as they wish, and not because of situations beyond their control. And the customer not be able to cancel without penalty of no refund or partial refund only? Along with associated costs of getting to the ship.
That is not regular conduct for most if not all other businesses or service sectors.

They need to add "Except cheese - you can't have cheese. So if you absolutely must have someone bring a plate of cheese to your room you will need to find another place to spend your vacation dollars."

Wanted to add too that at least with other cruise lines you know you are going to get hit in the wallet with extra and up charges and they aren't shy about letting you know. It seems like DCL is continuoly working changes in that don't favor the consumer with little to no notice. I thought the alcohol policy was going to be it for awhile, looks like I was wrong. 2016 could be an interesting year for DCL and this forum.

Wont it just!
If this is the way they are heading, I really think they, and some others could be hit with misrepresenting or misleading their product lawsuits unless they make it more clearer that they can and will change or remove the service or product offered and not hide it in the cruise paperwork that we all know many or most cruisers do not read.
And I don't know if that could be proven in a court of law, (I'm sure someone will say no) but they sure as hell are doing their best to diminish their reputation and product either way.

I've always found fruit, salads, simple wrap sandwiches at the poolside quick serve locations onboard.

The only salad that they were serving that was "entree-esgue" was a Caesar...and a few chicken bits. The dressing tasted like pepper and mayo and it was in a tiny little soup bowl. I guess I am just used to California where there are 3000 salad choices on any given menu. Cobb, Wedge, Italian, Greek plus all those fancy ones too like BBQ Chicken Ranch, Thai, etc. I only saw a kind of, sort of a traditional salad bar set up one day.

But they did add a Greek Salad and a Grilled Salmon Salad in addition to the Chicken Cesaer Salad to the room service menu. I'm not trying to defend their actions, as I too am tired of paying ultra high prices for what is becoming "inline with industry standards." But, I do believe in giving credit where credit is do, and if they put a chicken breast on that Greek Salad for me I'll be one happy guy.

There is an entree salad everyday in the sit-down lunch restaurant. I've enjoyed Cobb salads, steak salads, Salad Nicoise, salads with grilled chicken and more.

All I know is they better be ready for our counter-attack (literally). They will see their cheeses, crackers, breads, fruit & assorted snack items disappearing off the buffets in mass quantities. Maybe they'll start selling DCL Zip-Lock bags ?? Or have food police at the buffets to keep us from bagging it up & taking it to our cabins! This is war, Mickey Mouse!! :earboy2: :earboy2:

Aren't you allowed to take it to your cabin anyway?

Disney cruiseline blog has a article about the new menus for room service. Check it out
