I just called Disney and I can't take advantage of the 30% off rooms at GCH because they are all sold out for my dates!!

We are going over Labor Day wknd for the Half Marathon and the CM told me the hotel has been fully booked for a month.
We already have a reservation but
I am really dissapointed as it was a really good deal and to miss out on the savings really sucks!!!

Sorry all, I am venting a little...
Guess there's nothing I can do about it now,
Any perks to paying full price??

Ughhhhh, what a day...

Would you consider the DLH? Maybe they have availability? It's not *that* much further away? That's too bad about the discounts.

Try looking on expedia our some other discounts sites, someone else posted that they were successful on them after disney told them they had no more.

I have good luck at hotels.com :)

I had the same issue, but somehow a "specialist" was able to get it worked out. Here's my story - I bought an AP specifically to get hotel and food discounts before the price jumped and booked the hotel for 4 nights from 9/3-9/7. When the fall discount came out, I called to get the price lowered, but was told she couldn't rerun it because it was sold out.

Because only Saturday night is sold out, I proposed that what she should do then is reduce my current reservation to just 1 night, the 1st night that is sold out, and then create another reservation for the other three nights under the better rates. The CM made the new 3 night reservation at the 30% off rates, and then asked me to hold while she got a specialist to reduce the previous 4 night reservation to just 1 night. It was clunky, but it was the best solution I could come up with. I waited on hold for 20 minutes.

When the CM comes back, she tells me the specialist was able to get me the reduced rate on all 4 nights under the original reservation. To boot, it appears I have an additional 10% because of the AP, so 40% total. I don't know how, but it worked out wonderfully.

Do you mind sharing what the rate ended up being after those discounts?

Sure. These rates are with taxes and fees.
9/3 - $355.68
9/4-9/7 - $270.27 per night

In comparison, when the CM had me booked for just 3 nights, from 9/4-9/7 under the fall discount, the confirmation showed a rate of $291.33 (with taxes and fees).

ETA: Well, these look like the rates w/o any additional AP discount, now that I look at Disney's website. Not really sure why it was originally showing 291.33 the first time she ran it then.

:rotfl:

Thanks, I figured they were still in that range, but am always curious what the starting point is before the discounts.

Had the same issue on Sunday when I tried to book, but was able to get the 30% off rates with no problem through Kayak.com which also showed hotels.com, expedia, etc all with the discount. Not sure what the issue is with Disney reservations, but I'm all booked for my trip at the end of Sept.
