I made reservations earlier, but my sisters-in-law decided that they'll just share a room instead of getting separate. I called last week and the agent said she couldn't just cancel our first one, that once the 14 day hold expired to call back and just make new. I called yesterday, that agent said they're reservations systems was down, to please call back. I just called and apparently now they're not letting you have any time to pay, it has to be paid when you make the reservation. It's for 10/4. When I asked why this agent said oh it's because it's part of a package. I explained that no, it's not part of any package, just 2 rooms for 1 night. Then she said oh well, it must be because of the date. Which leads me to believe that she doesn't really know why, since she was guessing, lol. Does anyone know why we wouldn't be able to at least have a couple of days to pay? I don't mind, but since we're coordinating the trip with 3 families in different states it would be nice if they'd had some time to send their money in a check if they wanted. Thanks.

I think if you're within 30 days of arrival, you have to pay your one night deposit. I have done a few last minute trip where I call 3 weeks or 2 weeks in advance before arriving and I have to pay one night deposit to secure my reservation. I didn't have any problem with that.

We don't have any problem with it, but my sisters-in-law are single moms on limited budgets, and 14 days can make a difference. Realistically at this point they shouldn't have a problem either, but I can't say that for sure, and since I told them that they'd have 14 days to send in their money most likely we will pay for their room and have them pay us. I just like to get a straight answer from the agent when I'm making a reservation, since I've been told several different things by each agent.

If your check in is less than 30 days away at the time you make your reservation, you have to go ahead and put down your first night's deposit at that time.

If the reservation was for December, for example, she wouldn't have had to pay anything at the time she made the reservation.

Hope that makes it clear!

Sheri, I just called CRO. They said if you booked within 30 day of arrival, you have to give a one night deposit in order to hold the room, if not, they can't keep the reservation for you. And if you book over 30 day before arrival, then they will give you a 14 day courtesy hold.

I gave them your arrival date of 10/4 and she said in order to book it today or anyday after today, you have to give the one night deposit.

I asked her what if I go to my own travel agency and she said that the policy still stands. I hope this helps.

Thank you! That does clear it up, and I talked to my husband and we just paid for the room and we'll have his sisters pay us, that way they can even wait until October to pay.

It's hard to coordinate everything with 3 different families, and I'm trying to not just assume anything for them. Just because one thing works for us doesn't mean it will work for them. I really appreciate the responses!
