Dh and I are on the fence about going to wdw from 2/4-2/11. I just started looking at rooms today and I’m finding next to nothing for that week. Am I missing something that’s going on then? Seems like it was an uneventful time but maybe I’m missing something.

For this year? most people book atleast 3 months out not many spur of the moment. Might have to be really flexable on where you stay with such sort notice. I always try to book min 6 months our so we can grab food reservations.
only thing i see is a marathon on the 20th-23rd.

Yeah for this year. We may not even go but I like to at least look at our options for resorts. The only moderate I see is $245 for Caribbean and I see no values. I’m just surprised. We’ve booked two months out before and seen lots of options. We booked in December for a February trip and booked akl for under $300/night.

Just looked for your dates.. its showing all the moderates available.
Really? I might need to clear my cache and look again

Even on undercover tourist though I’m not seeing much. Everything is over $300/night

Here is the issue
February 2019

  • February 1-3 - moderate surge in crowds as the National Dance Team Championship takes place
  • February 4-7 - light crowds between cheer/dance events
  • February 8-10 - moderate crowd levels during the National High School Cheerleading Championship
  • February 11-14 - break in the crowds before the long holiday weekend
  • February 15 - some crowds start to appear for the long weekend
  • February 16-19 - the heaviest crowds of President's Day Weekend
  • February 20-25 - some President's Day Weekend crowds remain and Princess Half Marathon crowds appear to make it a moderately busy time
  • February 26-28 - finishing out the month with light crowds

So there is a dance competition and a cheerleading competition? That makes more sense now. Thanks

Looks like it’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth. I think we just won’t go

I think it’s hysterical. “We’re not going, we’re going, we’re not, we’re booked”. :rotfl2: I wish we could be that flexible. :thumbsup2
Lol sounds about right. We go so off and on. I really think this time we won’t go but it’s so hard when you see $29-49 airfare and 3 dah events. I feel like we sound like addicts. Just one more time and then we will be done.

We prefer to stay onsite. We really like the dme

Fair enough. My personal impediment to more frequent trips is the cost of transportation down. If I could find prices like those you mentioned upthread, I'd gladly pay for a car service from the airport (assuming a discomfort with uber/lyft). Still sitting here all envious of your airfare prices.

Those are frontier. Have you ever flown with them? They have pretty crappy customer service and the flights aren’t the best but it is definitely hard to pass up $29 flights. I think that’s why we struggle so much with going to wdw so often. We really need to just never look at the flights. I should remove myself from their email list lol
