We were there on that morning last year and were actually let into the park and onto the rides earlier than we expected. Crowd level was lower than we expected, too.

i'm gonna be there that weekend and i hope this doesnt affect crowds TOO much. i heard in the past that it isn't that bad. i think they get discounted tickets but not free tickets. so maybe they won't stay.
I think when we were there on CHOC Walk day last year, Disneyland Park was not supposed to open to the general public until 10am but we went between 9am - 9:30am to pick up a birthday button from City Hall. After we had the button, we headed up Main Street and here's how busy it was:
It never seemed very busy all day, so I wouldn't think that the CHOC Walk will affect attendance all that much.
