No Mickey Meet and Greet or Princess Pavilion as yet today

Following on from yesterdays walkout the Entertainment team - characters and parades are still taking action and the AP meet Mickey were cancelled this am.

As yet the PP hasn't opened and MM neither for the general public.

There wont be any open today and I doubt that the parade or the train will run either

No characters in any of the restaurants either today - apparently the restaurants will be offering the childrens meals for free in these restaurants.

Signs have also gone up at all the photo locations

That's a nice gesture for the restaurants, although you can guarantee people will still be angry, although if you haven't paid in advance they have the choice to eat elsewhere.

If they can and have I'd guess that if you wanted your money back they won't be refusing it today.

Bit of a nightmare though if you have gone for the top-end dining plan and were after character meals and it's now two days worth of vouchers that cannot be used properly (does that make sense? Am being attacked by a toddler!)

Unfortunately there are going to be some upset people but this time it's not about money or hours it's a lot more serious and the Entertainement team are the last ones to take action as they know how big a role they play in the park and how many people are there to see them

I think you can pre pay for Cafe Mickey (just for set menu though) I might be wrong (usually am!) unless dealing with drunks at work, then i'm always right

I fully support them, hopefully it is resolved soon to make for a better work environment. I'm surprised that the person who has been doing it wanted to come back as its amazing how quickly people can turn against you.

My OH had a guy like this where he worked once - The man had been twice accused, condammed once and was under investigation for the 2nd and he didn't care. For him he hadn't done anything wrong, it was all in the womens mind and the worst thing was that a fair few other men fully supported him

We have a vile man where I work who harasses some of the staff but he intimidates them into not taking further action, he thinks he is doing nothing wrong and people should accept that's how he is! I tried to get some of them to come forward and it ended up with me looking bad!
Really hope this gets sorted soon.

That's awful that no one would come forward with you! Like everywhere that is subjected to this kind of abuse I'm sure they all want it to stop but if people don't come forward and support those that are willing to take further action then nothing will get done

I hope things are sorted in Disney soon and for you too! As sad and disappointing it must be for the guests in the park I hope they at least understand the 'why' it's happening.

The pbs have not been solved as yet but they will be back at work tomorrow according to a couple of cms on DCP

So fingers crossed that the management will do the right thing now

What a horrible thing to be going on - both for the CM in question and the rest of the CMs, and also, of course, for the people on holiday there. How do you explain to your children the lack of characters/parades etc - they just don't understand when they are young .

I hope for all concerned that it is resolved swiftly and satisfactorily.

Naive as it is, you just don't expect this sort of thing in the Disney bubble!

If that's the case the negociations have failed and the management are even worse than I thought they already were.

I don't understand how some one who was sentenced by a court can walk back into their job and that it is their victim that has to change service.

If he had taken money out of the till he would have been fired direct so why is sexual harassement a lesser offense

I am appalled at Disney management.

Good for them for standing by their friend, I would hope my friends would stand up for me in that way.

I know this will ruin people's holidays, but imho some things are more important than a holiday, or a child meeting a character - this is someone's life and they should not be treated in this way by their company! I would be gutted if it happened to us, but in this circumstance, I would stand by them totally - and join in with a protest too!

leur droit de retrait - Just asked OH about this and he says it means that they are refusing to work as they feel that their enviroment is too dangerous.

So it's not classed as a strike or industrial action but a dangerous work situation.

I also would be proud to have friends like these as so many people turn their backs on you. l

altho - u do have to think of the ppl who maybe have been there 2 days and not seen parade or many characters, and wont again tomorro - if they are only there 3 days, that is their holiday gone......

y do the management not think??? think of the staff having to deal with this and the impact??? but also think of the ppl paying to come to disney??? without customers and cms, they are nothing......

More then likely management want rid of the culprit but its never easy to do especially if lawyers/unions involved. In the modern day of suing for dismissal Disney have to make sure they have got everything in place. Its a difficult situation all round.

I work with someone who has been off for over a year, the company wanted her gone as she wasn't fit to work, she got the union involved & kept her job. Came back to work for 3 days & announced she was pregnant! she knew she was pregnant before she came back but played it to her advantage & now gets the maternity package. Someone worked it out that in the 10 years she has worked for the company only approx 18 months have been spent working, other times she is sick or pregnant. I don't like anyone really to lose their job but she is taking it to the extremes & is one of the reasons we now have a rubbish sickness policy.

Hopefully Disney is getting a way to being resolved.
