I'm a former PhotoPass Photographer and I'm on the fence with this. I'm glad people will be able to take a photo without it, but I'm afraid people are going to abuse the system. I can totally see people taking extended photoshoots their friends and family and be walking around without their masks looking for the perfect photo spot. I'm also afraid for the Photopass photographers, because I know people will be coming up to them before and after the photos without their masks. They'll either rip them off too soon or not put them back on soon enough. And while in certain areas this policy will be totally fine (ex some of the quieter areas around World Showcase), I think we all know how crowded it gets on Main Street the first few hours in the morning and how many people are stopping to get their photo taken. Yes, it's outside but being outside isn't 100% safe. I'm glad so many people are getting vaccinated, but this still isn't the time to throw all caution to the wind. Ultimately I knew this was going to happen, I just hope Disney is thinking ahead and will try to monitor some of the more crowded area where people are taking photos and will be diligent about reminding people to wear their masks.
