No masks at Walmart?

Stores could aways just start requiring proof of vaccination. If you don't like it then you don't need to enter. Then you would know who is vaccinated and who is not. Of course I doubt we'll ever get there.

AARP is still staying that we can #1 catch a mild version of it and #2 spread it to others. Once we get a clear and consistent example of the actual truth, then I don't intend to take any chances. I took many of them with I was young and paid heavily for it. Not going to just react to one source. I will use my own opinions as to what it safe and what isn't. It isn't misinformation if I cannot actually speak to the sources and find out where they are getting their information from. However, even if it isn't factual, who does one hurt by deciding that wearing one is better then taking the chance.
Does AARP conduct medical studies?

Actually AARP has updated their guidance to match the CDC for fully vaccinated people.

Although I'll give credit to the other person as the webpage shows an update on the 20th so it's entirely possible they had no idea.
The CDC change in policy was very recent. And very well covered in the media. It's what precipitated the OP even posting this thread.

True but since the person was responding to goofy's comment who said the AARP was what they looked at and AARP updated on the 20th I can understand why they (goofy) may have missed it if that's the place they go to and trust. Not saying that the information hasn't been covered by a lot of places since the announcement just was going on their AARP comment.

But aren't you reacting to just one source... AARP? Or are you talking to them and finding out where they get their information from? If anyone wants to wear a mask, more power to them. They can do so 24/7/365 for the rest of their lives for all I care. No one should be giving them the "stink eye" much less confront them. By the same token, those who choose to wear masks shouldn't judge those who don't.
I don't, I wear one because I want to at this point. That is my prerogative and just as legit as those the do not believe in getting a vaccine. But, I can assure you I am going to do everything that I can to make sure that I don't spread it to anyone else in the event that I came in contact with the virus. It just seems the right thing to do.

I'm not reacting to AARP I am reacting to the difference between what one viable source says and what another viable source said. One is wrong. But I don't know which one it is so I take the precaution to try and make sure that I am not going to be guilty of possibly causing a loss of life over something as simple as wearing a mask. When all viable sources agree I will completely follow that advice. If AARP had not just posted that warning two days ago I would not hesitate to stop wearing it completely. But they did and I will feel better wearing one where necessary until all agree.

I'm not denying science, I'm reacting to conflicts emanating from sources that should be on the same page. They might clear it up in a few days, but until that happens, I will error on the side of caution just like I did back when all the wanna be health specialists were saying that it was a hoax.

Did you see the link I posted from AARP? They do agree with the CDC.

I did see it and my post was from a timespan before when the two did not agree on those two points. If they do now that is different.
AARP was actually in agreement with the CDC when you posted. I understand with recent changes you may not have seen that when you posted, though.

I've been out in the streets & shopping in NYC the past several days. The majority of the people I've seen are still wearing masks. Even in Whole Foods, which I think, is one of the chain stores that have allowed the removal of masks, people pretty much all wore masks. A lot of the 30 and under still have only received one shot so far, or are in the 14 day post vaccination wait, (according to the date they became eligible to be vaccinated.)

Comedian Trevor Noah noted it's actually quite EASY to figure out which people are vaccinated and which aren't. :rotfl2:

(This should be cued up to the 5:28 mark. Fast forward to it if it isn't. And you only need to watch to the 6:35 mark. :lmao:)

He's actually quite wrong.

Bottom line..... get your vaccine and do whatever you want. Wear one. Don't wear one.

But I'm so over the judging and worrying about what everyone else is doing. It that it was important before, but the vaccine changes that calculus. You can once again only worry about yourself. If you've been vaccinated anyway.

He was J.O.K.I.N.G.

Trevor Noah is a comedian. I made that quite clear.

I posted it for some levity on this thread.

So I COULD have made an issue of it, but it just wasn't worth it to me. Anyone else live where they're not following the CDC guidelines concerning masks? I was even ready with my vaccination card.
You have it reversed. You might consider making an issue if the store employees weren't following store policy. Consider saying something if the store policy was more lenient then CDC guidelines.

In general a store has the right to be stricter then CDC guidelines. Making an issue is wrong.

I wish every store, bar, restaurant would require proof of vaccine. And every business require every employee to be vaccinated. The only way we get past this is to get the majority vaccinated. And if it takes a stick, so be it. Hospitals are filing with the unvaccinated. Makes no sense to me. My niece is an ER nurse. She’s so tired of this.

I just read a news article about how overworked ER nurses are due primarily to what you said, When I read that they may not have the room to treat heart attacks, which run in DH's family, that got me a little upset. God Bless your niece.

interesting about stores, bars and resturants....I thought by watching TV that the problem was concerts, sporting venues, marches, Sturgis, and summer beaches.
