We will be visiting DLR Feb. 20 & 21 next year and can only spend 2 days at Disneyland. The last time we visited in 2013 we ran to get a Fast Pass during Magic Morning and were able to get on the ride just once. This time we won't have the Magic Morning and I'm wondering if we'll be able to get on it at all (without waiting in line for hours) or if all the Fast Passes will be gone by the time we enter the park. We will have another person with us this time that has never been to California so we'd like her to be able to go on this but with just 2 days to visit, we don't want to waste a huge amount of time waiting in line for this one attraction. My son who will be with us is a super fast runner & I'm thinking our best bet would be for him to run ahead as soon as we get in the park and try to get Fast Passes then. Any suggestions?

The FP situation has changed for RSR. There should be no problem getting RSR FP now as long as you go in the morning. FPs usually last for 3-4 hours now.

They will ask your son not to run...just an FYI.

They never issued FP's during EMH. You were able to line up during EMH, but the FP's were not distributed until the park officially opened.
Just get there at rope drop and head to the FP area. You should be fine.

We got them in Feb 2013 without a MM or EMH. On our first morning we did the wide right and got on right after the park opened. The second morning we got fast passes first thing after entering the parks. In both cases we were at or near the front of the line for park entrance (got there about 45 minutes before park opening.)

We just went at the beginning of Aug. One day we did not get to the park until 10amish, because we had to check out of one hotel and into the GCA, and return a rent a car. We were able to get FPs for 7:50 that evening. Now that night we did get escorted off because the ride broke down and we got FPs for the next day since we had a WOC package. There was no EMH at DCA that morning.

Next morning was EMH and we got on standby right at opening, we missed rope drop, so we did not do the wide right and waited maybe 25 minutes if that. We then had breakfast and DS16 got in line before official park opening for FPs at about 7:50ish. They did actually let these people start to pull the FPs, he got through just before the herd of people got allowed to come but there were still plenty of FPs at that time.

Feb 21 is a Saturday, and not an EE day for DCA anyhow. So, just be at the turn styles at regular park opening and you should have no problems.

You might also consider doing the single rider line. It can be long, but is usually pretty short (anywhere from 20 minutes to an instant walk-on, even in the middle of the day, it just depends). I've seen entire families use the line to avoid the long standby queue. You and your family would need to be ok with riding separately and meeting up at the exit, but it is a very fast line.

We have done single rider...once dh and I were in the same car (separate rows) and the second time we were in opposite cars and raced each other (I won.) :-)

Wide right involves being there at or before rope drop and staying to the far right side of the crowd as you move through the park. They'll hold you at a spot before you enter Carsland. Stay up front near the cast members, but on the far right side (not on the sidewalk, they were chasing people off the sidewalk)...but right next to it. Stay on the right after they let you into Carsland. They bring out Mator on the left hand side and that messes up the crowd of people walking to RSR that are on the left side.

If you search there are probably better or more in-depth answers...the above was our experience in Feb 2013. When I went Dec 2013, we rode single rider twice since we didn't get to the parks until 11:00 ish and all the fast passes were gone...but that's was New Year's eve and it was extra busy.

Skip the FP line and go directly to the ride; the FP line will be longer than the standby line at opening. In late July, my two kids and I walked there, slightly after opening; the FP line was nearly to Carthay Circle. RS was broken down, which probably contributed to the FP line, but we did handful of other rides and made our way back to Cars Land around 1000. We still were able to walk on with only a 30 min wait.

A line to Carthay Circle is actually rather short and would only take a few minutes before you got your FP. It is not uncommon (especially after CL opened) for the FP line to be all the way down Hollywood Blvd and around the corner to ToT at park opening.

I get into the DCA a little after 9:00 Tuesday morning, got my FP about 9:30 and the return time was 12:50. You should have no problem at all getting FP for RSR.

You can also try getting in line for RSR just before the park closes. We did this one night in October when the park closed at 8pm. We got in line at 7:55 and the posted wait time was 45 minutes. I asked the cast member if that wait time was accurate and he said "yes" but we got in line anyway...and the wait was only 18 minutes. Even if the wait ends up being longer, it's not really time wasted in line because it's "after hours" time.

We were just there last week. Thursday, I walked right up to the FP machine at 8:15, There was no line for FP at all.:cool1: We were able to get another FP for 8:15 PM at 11:00 AM.

We were in DCA today. There were still Fps for RSR well into the day--I can't remember exactly what time it was when we walked by and the return time was 9-10 pm, but it was several hours into the day. You'll be fine!
