Boy, am I glad I listened to posters on these boards. Due to a medical issue, we needed a third bed- a rollaway- in our room at POP. I requested it through my travel agent, who talked with the special/medical needs people and said it shouldn't be a problem, and I sent a FAX reminding POP of this a couple of days in advance, and asked for a spare set of bedding... sheets, blanket... if the rollaway wasn't available. Well, I sure am glad we brought the aerobed and a fitted sheet, as there was no rollaway in sight. I went to the front desk to talk to them about it (this was at about 1am, when we had finally arrived) and they said yes, it was noted, but there was nothing they could do about it. Also said they didn't have access to the bedding but housekeeping could bring up something in the morning. Grrrr.... I took the blanket off one of the double beds for DD to use with the aerobed until the next day when, as stated, housekeeping brought up a spare set of bedding.

FWIW, there was ample space for the aerobed. I moved the table over in front of the connecting door (to the next room) and put the aerobed on the floor between the armoire and a chair. PLENTY of space for the bed, and we just flipped it up against the wall during the day.

Had a similar problem once, but rollaways are never guaranteed. Glad you had the aerobed as a backup.

With a 1am arrival time there's not a lot the hotel can do. There are only so many and they are first come first served it seems.

We were told that special needs/medical needs would have priority and there should be no problem meeting this. Posters over on the DISabilities board warned me to take the aerobed, regardless of what was said. Good thing I listened. It was a bit annoying not to be able to get a blanket, though!

I am very surprised to hear that they would not get you a blanket and sheets. Years ago my son got sick in the middle of the night at Disney. We called housekeeping and they came right away and changed the entire bed. I think the problem is with the extra bedding. It seems that they just didn't want to be bothered. I was under the impression that housekeeping is available 24 hours. Now that you know it would probably be easier to just pack some sheets for the areo bed. We have an areo bed we use at our house for company and I bought special sheets made for the bed. They really would not take up much room. As for a blanket, that might be too much to pack. I hope you had a great vacation otherwise!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

We were at POR last week and my niece threw up in the middle of the night and my sister called for linens and they brought them right over.

In order to get even a medical need request guaranteed you have to go thru Disney's Special Services department. Otherwise a request is just a request. It is very fortunate you brought your own bed as a back up.:thumbsup2

Oh, and faxing does not help anymore, as they just throw them out. Just an fyi.
