No Luck with a Studio Oct 21-23

We thought we might make a quick trip down to WDW the weekend of Oct 21-24 for the PGA/WDW Golf tournament , (Funai Classic) and hit the F & W fest. We went last year for the Funai Classic and had a blast.

I asked for any studio at any resort, and nothing! Oh well - I know it's late, and we just figured we would check to see if something was available.

No big deal, but I am in need of a Disney fix...............................

Maybe there's nothing because of all the people that had to be relocated from VB?

The rep actually did say in passing that the Vero Beach relocation increased booking.

I know that the F & W festival is a huge draw, so I figured it would be tough anyway.

Like I said - I really need a Disney fix........bad!

Between VB, F&W, MNSSHP, and the Funai Classic, I can certainly understand the lack of availability.

I too need a Disney fix and have been trying for the past 3 weeks to get a last minute studio anywhere. I finally got Fri and Sat 10/15 and 16 and Mon and Tues 10/18 and 10/19. I'm waitlisted for Sunday nite the 17th ... with Vero reschedules I'm not holding out much hope. Guess I could always sleep in the car. I'm sure I can find somthing out on 192 but really hate to leave property. It's a hastle, but at least I'll be at WDW and that's all that matters!!! Good luck!

I don't think the hurricanes have anything to do with this. I was able to get a studio at OKW for Oct. 22 & 23 but needed the 24th too. I got the first two nights but that Sunday wasn't available (anywhere). So I'll be staying in Poinciana with friends. Then on Monday I move into a 2 bedroom with friends. This was about two months ago.

Worked out though. I traded a night in their guest house for a studio at OKW on the 30th. We are all going to the party of the senses and they didn't want to drive all the way home.

I think October is becoming more and more popular.

Try a priceline bid (resort level) for that one day. Check out www.biddingfortravel.com and see what's been popping up for resorts in the WDW area. you'd have a decent shot of at least staying "on property" even though it wouldn't be an actual Disney resort.

We got cancelled from Vero and scrambled to get 3 out of 5 days in a studio at OKW, no other studio's anywhere for Oct 10 and 11. We ended up booking CBR out of the Disney collection for 15pts/night. Not a great deal but right now I'd rather use paid for points than cash. Maybe this would work for you guys too.

We've been waitlisted for two 2-bedrooms (one for 1 night, one for 2) for months & months. We are at 24 days now. I really thought at least one night would come through since we have been waiting for so long. Ah well, at least we have studios booked as backup...just wishing we didn't have to move.

I don't think it is the VB relocators causing the problem either. We were wait-listed for various dates in Oct. and everytime I called MS (about every 3rd day) I was told that everything was sold out - everywhere. This was well before both hurricanes hit. We have really learned our lesson about Oct...not to change plans if it at all possible!!!
