??no longer w/ AT&T DSL internet...what about email accounts

We can get Cable internet cheaper than DSL. We have a Bellsouth.net email account that I know we can migrate to another email...no problem there.

My questions are ... Will AT&T terminate our Bellsouth.net email account when we turn off DSL?
We want to migrate to Yahoo email. Does AT&T control Yahoo accounts too or is it free to anyone like Gmail is free? .... We will continue to have both a landline and cell phone service with AT&T.

I was able to keep my sbcglobal.net account when I cancelled my AT&T DSL 6 years ago. I still use the email account.

just make sure u keep the password safe... i heard if you cant login att wont help...

I dropped AT&T/Bellsouth back in August. Strangely enough, I can still access my email.

Interesting..I've been toying with switching from EarthLink but was worried I would have to transfer all my emails over to a new account.
