No longer selling discounted tickets after 9/15 - Why?

A friend forwarded me an email from her union stating that discounted tickets would no longer be sold through them as of 9/15/16. The email stated "The Disneyland Corporation has decided to end the discounted sales program for all XXX union members and affiliates." I wonder why this is and if its isolated to just her union/group? Anyone else hear of anything similar? When I need tickets I usually buy through my credit union and now I'm worried Disney will end the discount with them as well.

Just received this in an email from Wild at Work that is affiliated with my husband's employer:

Effective Sept. 16, Disneyland California Resort will be discontinuing all ticket discount programs. Until then, you can still get tickets at a great discount through Wild at Work. Keep in mind that tickets are valid until the end of next year – December 31, 2017- so you have plenty of time to use it.

I just received the same email through the discount sponsor for my workplace, Wild at Work. The cut off is the same date.

Huh. I'll have to ask my mom if CTA is getting the same thing. The little I can look up without logging in doesn't even show any DLR tickets available to purchase. I know they used to, but we've never purchased them through those sources.

It's a bummer but I'm kinda surprised they didn't end them sooner. With crazy good attendance numbers there is no reason Disney needs to sell discounted tickets through these outfits anymore.

I bet our work program will no longer carry DL tickets. They didn't send a letter but good to know!

Just confirmed that my credit union will discontinue as of September 15th, too. :( Starting to doubt that Last Minute will continue to sell. Was always nice to have that savings. it really added up.

Jack up the prices, end the discounts, discontinue Fantasmic!, Paint the Night, and Disneyland Forever. What a great customer experience they're creating. Sounds like the Disney coffers are overflowing.

Except Fantasmic has not been discontinued, it's dark while they work on Rivers of America. PtN and DF were both designed only for the 60th, which they actually extended for an additional 6 months. At no point did Disney say those were going to remain forever. It was all hopes and dreams that they wouldn't go away after the 60th.

Bummer. :( I haven't heard anything about CTA and Recreation Connection yet, but it looks like it's all going that way. I swear, I've been teaching for 10 years, just discovered I can get discounted tickets from the union, and now they're being discontinued? I'm unlucky.

Interesting....I haven't heard anything from Tickets at Work which is the company my work goes through. I'll have to keep an eye out.

I hope they don't discontinue the military salute tickets as well.

Checked with my mom. We don't see anything on CTA's site about their Disney ticket discounts discontinuing. Doesn't mean they won't. But I can't find official word there yet. Asked her to keep her eyes open for any notifications regarding a change.

Actually, the Armed Forces Salute ticket is an annual offer, with a built in expiration date. This year, I think last day to use it this year's tickets is December 19th. Disney has renewed it every year, but generally they don't announce it until late in the year. I'm hoping they do so, for my DLR trip next summer.

I usually use The Employee Network for Parkhoppers and they have the same announcement on their page. Too bad about that.

when they announced the demand pricing program I figured the days of the discount ticket were numbered.

Yeah I know how they work. Disney has renewed them every year but with them getting rid of other discount programs I really hope they don't decide to do away with this one as well. I'm good to go for our trip we leave for tomorrow but we have another one in the works for my daughter's birthday next year and if there is no salute tickets we will probably just do Knott's and Universal.

Thanks for the heads up. I better check with my company if they have heard anything, because I was planning on getting our corporate discounted tickets through work for our October trip
