No longer getting the 50% borrow warning

Just got off the phone and she was adamant the rule is in place; No word on when they are lifting restrictions per her (I needed to borrow 47 more points)

Call again and speak to someone else. They let me borrow extra points for my Thanksgiving trip last year.

Bold lettering every time I go to make a reservation, up to 50% borrowing allowed. I was just online yesterday to make a late August ressie.

I just borrowed and the amount that would be allowed was exactly 1/2 of what was available.

I would love it if the restriction was removed. Looking at my 2023 plans and I will be short on my AK contract so I may have to split stay with my WL and try to get a complete reservation at the 7 month window. Not going to stop my plans, just may need to move at some point.

I have been wondering if they are going to remove this restriction soon or if they make exceptions as well. We are booked for the first time in 2.5 years in May and want to book for a week in November for friends we are going to let use our points because we don't plan on going back for a couple of years. But we are short by 18 (which would put us around 61% borrowed)...I really did not want to have to buy one time points when we have points we can borrow.

My guess is they'd grant you an exception for 18 points if you call. I'd make a couple of attempts if initially denied, too.

I randomly got into a discussion on twitter with someone from Australia recently. She is coming in May having bought Riviera in 2019 and not being able to use it yet. Their initial purchased points have been extended to June 2022, so it sounds like there are still a fair amount of excess points in the system that need to be cleared before they can back out the restriction.

I just went on the site and the following notice is posted on the bottom of the page when looking for a reservation:
"Members who book a new reservation(s) online, or modify an existing reservation(s) online, borrowing more than 50 percent of their Vacation Points per contract, will have their reservation(s) exceeding the 50 percent maximum cancelled automatically within 7 days"

So it appears you may be able to make a reservation, but then it will be cancelled. Ouch.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking (and hoping). It is such a small number of points. And I think you are right, there is such an excess it likely won’t be going away anytime soon. We likely aren’t going back until 2025 after this year so it this is the only exception we should need.

That went up first back in 2020, then they modified (further broke) the site to prevent borrowing more than 50% of next UY points and never bothered to change that message.

Don't get discouraged if you're told NO initially. I'd give it at least 3 tries. Every CM has his or her own level of strength with the force. What is impossible for one is often no problem at all for another.

I was explaining in Chrome I see it. The only time I see it is when doing automatic refresh in Chome. What does your comment mean?

I got an exception to borrow 11 points over the limit the other day. I was trying to book an additional night at Aulani and only had 14 points but needed 25.
