No Longer coming to you Live from Disney World! Take 3 DDW'S TAMBU LOUNGE 8/6

Chiming in from the UK! It was wonderful to meet everyone at Blue Zoo, what a great bar :)

My drink was a very tasty although not particularly exotic Sauvignon Blanc and that my friends is as much info I can share about that particular drink!

Ah the smoked cherries .... An interesting flavor and probably greatly enhanced when served floating in gin ;)

What great pics! The drinks look wonderful!!

Great pictures! Looks like you all had a wonderful time! The bar looks great too. I'll have to check it out on a future trip.

I am finally here! I have been so preoccupied with Christmas/heading back to Ohio/coming back to Minnesota/New Years that I haven't been very motivated to get on here!

I am sad too that I had to come back to reality- I can't believe it has been a month! I was looking forward to Disney so much and now it is over and I am sad!

My plans were to meet Beth and Barb at San Angel Inn at 2:30pm and then watch the Candlelight Processional standby.

I thought I would be there in plenty of time, however, my co workers thought differently and I needed to turn in something before I left for Epcot therefore I was late! I think I was at least 20 minutes late for lunch. I let Barb know what I wanted to order and she ordered it for me. By the time I got to lunch I was so hot and sweaty because I was basically running to Mexico. Good thing it is the first country.

I decided on the traditional Mexican lunch:

Traditional Mexican Lunch $28.00

Sopa Azteca - traditional tortilla soup

Enchiladas Verdes de Pollo - Corn tortillas filled with pulled chicken, covered with green tomatillo sauce

Crema Bavaria - creamy Bavarian mousse served with mixed berries, cinnamon and orange liqueur

Includes soft drink or iced tea. No substite on the Mexican lunch.

This was perfect for me because it had everything I wanted to try. I decided I didn't want a margarita because I was so shaky from running so I just stuck with the included diet soda.

It is nice that you get chips and salsa here complimentary. I had a few chips and the salsa is really tomatoey and very thin. It wasn't my favorite salsa, but it was okay. The chips were good though!

My appetizer was the tortilla soup.

This was very good. The broth is similar to how I described the salsa- tomatoey and thin! It was good though. I loved the thick tortilla strips and the avocado!

Here are Beth and Barb's entrees. Sorry the pictures are not great.

My entree:

This was good but not any better than my local Mexican restaurant I go to. I did enjoy it with the exception of the rice. It was sooo hard that I coudn't eat the rice! I don't know if it wasn't cooked fully or what. The beans were decent. My favorite part was the tomatillo sauce.

I was the only one that got dessert but that is okay. I am such a sweet person so I have to try dessert in Disney!

I had the bavarian mousse.

This was SOOOO good! I loved this mousse. It was so creamy but still light at the same time. I loved the berries with the mousse. I also loved the cinnamon. I am a big cinnamon lover and the cinnamon was very prevalent throughout the entire mousse. The orange liqueur wasn't too noticeable.

All in all it was a good meal! The entree wasn't anything special but I really liked the dessert and the appetizer. Of course, I loved the ambiance and my dining companions! It is super super dark in there, which I knew but it was shocking just how dark it was. I literally could not see when I went into the pavilion and I couldn't see when I left the pavilion. We did have some flashers that flashed their camera at us on the boat ride which was a little annoying.

Soooooo bummed I wasn't there yet for this meet up! Great to see you all! :thumbsup2

I have to echo Brenda by saying that I knew from the moment I met everyone that we would have a blast on this trip. I keep telling people that it was like we had known each other for years which I guess in a way we have! :goodvibes

Very blessed to be a part of this trip! Can't wait until I can contribute! :upsidedow

Brenda- I will lay claim to that martini - It was a Hendrick's martini and it was wonderful

Rachel- Thanks for posting the pic of my lunch entree. It was so very good and I am so glad I was able to join you and Barb. It was great to meet you

Thought so Beth. ;) Glad it found a home. :)

Paula may post her Epcot lunch in the next day or so ...

Hello everyone! :wave2: I got home last night around midnight, just in time for the snowstorm and sub-zero temps. When we left Cabo yesterday it was almost 80 degrees. Tonight in Illinois the low is predicted to be -18. That's nearly a 100 degree temperature swing!!!

Here was my view at breakfast yesterday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico...

And one of me (again taken yesterday morning) sitting by the hot tub at the beautiful villa where my niece and her bridesmaids stayed...

But this was my view at breakfast this morning back home in Illinois :( ...

How can Mother Nature be so cruel?!?! :confused3

Anyway, getting back to our dining report now. First, thank you to Beth and Rachel for completing our San Angel Inn review. For me, this was a great first meal and I was very happy to be able to enjoy it with these two great ladies.

Also a big thanks to Brenda for posting photos from our first big DISmeet at bluezoo! I only had ginger ale that night so nothing worth photographing or commenting on. But I will say how wonderful it was to finally meet Brenda, Em, Paula & Hunter and to see Linda & Philip again. :grouphug: I was so excited about our first big DISmeet that I completely forgot to take any photos...not a single one. :sad2: Therefore, I was thrilled to see all the great photos that Brenda remembered to take. Bravo!!! :cheer2:

Those are some views you had!! How beautiful! At least you got a little bit of winter warmth in!

Hi Everyone!! I am finally going to join in on this food report!!

Hunter and I began our trip with a lunch at the Biergarten with the Candlelight Processional package.

Some pics of the buffet options... I tried my best but there was a line so it was a little difficult after a bit to get some of them!

One of the wonderful parts of the Biergarten is the entertainment. Unfortunately my cell-phone did not get such good pics of that...

The food at Biergarten we love! Unfortunately we had an issue with alcohol! When we first sat down we ordered 3 shots and a 1/2L Beer. After our first plate we wanted to get some more Alcohol and we were told by our server that we couldnt. That there was a 2 drink limit per person. We had never had this issue before at any other Disney Restaurant (or any restaurant!) and we were stunned that they would cut people off when they make good money on alcohol. WE discussed it with the manager and he said it is up to the Servers Discretion. She refused to serve us any more. Now. This was our first stop of the day and we were completely sober! I did send an email to Disney about this and received a call back this week. I was informed that the rule is 2 drinks at a time. When we finish that we can order more as long as we are not showing signs of intoxication. Unfortunately this server did put a sour taste in our mouth about Biergarten. However! We love the food there and if not for this incident it would be on our next dining line-up.

After being the last person let into the Candlelight Processional and having cement wall seats we got to watch the lovely Ashley Judd. She just found out about Nelson Mandela (who Beth had to tell me was!) so she was very emotional.

After our yacht club club level experience and our bluezoo cocktails it was time for our Flying Fish dinner. I was excited for this because Flying Fish has been my favorite signature experience of the limited I have tried.

We were sat in the back room all the way in the corner. It was incredibly loud in there but quieted up once people started to leave.

Menu photos: Pretty hard to read, sorry!

For my wine I had the white wine sampler.

PINOT GRIGIO/GRIS 16

Benvolio, Friuli ‘10

Mohua, Central Otago ‘09

Benton Lane, Willamette Valley ‘10

So good! I really liked the two closest to me. The one on the end was a bit too dry.

Sourdough bread and butter

I am not a fan of their bread so hopefully someone else can comment because I didn't try it.

For my appetizer I ordered

Mozzarella di Bufala alla Caprese Florida Yellow Beefsteak, UgliRipe and Tiny Tomatoes, Aged Balsamico, Exotic Peppercorns, Petite Basil, and Sicilian Olio Verde 15.00

I am just in love with the appetizer. They added the peppercorns since last time I had it and it just makes it so much better. It is a spicy peppery taste that is added and it is so good with the sweet tomatoes and creamy mozzarella cheese. I would came back to FF just for this!

For my entree I ordered the

Grilled Pepperberry and Wattleseed-crusted Snake River Farms Berkshire Pork Tenderloin Bacon-studded Greens, Leek, Fontina, and Truffle-laced Trofie Macaroni & Cheese with a Black Mission Fig, Port Wine, Balsamico, Red Onion, and Grilled Portobello Mushroom Compote 36.00

Wow- this was amazing! This pork was sooo good. You could definitely tell that it was a sweeter taste and it was char grilled with the sweet crust. By the way I have no idea what pepperberry, wattleseed, bacon-studded, trofie, is/means. But this entree was good! The only thing I did not like was the figs on the plate. There were a lot of them and I just didn't like the texture. I also loved the macaroni & cheese. It was a spiral macaroni and I could taste the strong truffles which were amazing. This mac & cheese was not healthy and it was very greasy/fattening but it was heavenly. Both Hunter and I ordered this and we both enjoyed it.

For dessert Hunter/Paula worked their magic and got us a pretty dessert platter! We ordered the pumpkin semifreddo, frangelico dark chocolate mousse, carmelized banana napoleon, and the caramel apple bread pudding.

The only thing I enjoyed was their signature banana napoleon. That was very good with the phyllo dough and the banana custard. I didn't like the apple bread pudding because of the raisins. I didn't like the semifreddo because I didn't realize it was going to be icy! It was pretty flavorless. The mousse creation was good but a little too chocolatey for me.

However, my favorite dessert was the wonderful alcoholic beverage that Hunter ordered for us to share.

Peanut Butter Freeze
Kahlúa, Baileys Irish Cream, Crème de Banana,
Dark Crème de Cacao , and Peanut Butter
combine for a refreshing Fro zen Treat
9.50

This was amazing! An adult milkshake and it was delicious. My only regret was I didn't order my own.

Cheers!

We had a great meal minus the heartburn I got later. I loved my dining companions and we had some laughs involving the color purple! I won't go into details. Hunter is hilarious and I enjoyed my time getting to know everyone. I was excited that we had full 4 days ahead of us.

Corey was going to arrive after midnight so I hit the hay when I got back after I took some photos of the resort.

Coming up soon: Ohana and Crystal Palace.

Flying Fish update

I started with a hendrick's martini. I had one at the Bluezoo meet so after this one I was feeling pretty good:lmao:

I had the fresh Epcot Land Salad and it was wonderful . It was seriously delicious

For my main entree I had the tuna. I have had this before and loved it, so I got it again. It did not disappoint. This is seriously one of the best meals ever

Hunter ordered us some seriously delicious dessert sampler that did not disappoint. I loved all of it. we also had some peanut butter dessert milkshake and that was one one the best thing I have ever had. Thanks Hunter and Paula

Hi Everyone!

I'm just checking in after the holidays. Whew, what a busy whirlwind the past few weeks have been!

I will be posting updates of my family's dining adventures as well as the times I was able to meet up with the great ladies and gentlemen who I had the privilege to meet while in Disney.

We arrived late in the evening of December 7th, so I think my first update will be for Sunday, December 8th.

But going in order of the days, I still have a little time to recover from the holidays. ;)

FF looks fabulous! Sure wish I had joined in the fun and great food! Hunter's connections sure paid off. :)

Hi Dee Dee!

The Flying Fish review is making me so hungry. I love their caprese salad, and the tuna dish and dessert platter look so good. :goodvibes

We actually ate at Flying Fish a few nights ago, and while the current tuna dish is different, I can still say it was delicious. :thumbsup2

We stayed at BWV in December and never have FF a thought because of the high price. However, your review is making me regret that. It looks delicious! We are all huge seafood fans and were considering dinner at Cape May on the next trip but FF actually looks better.

Great review of FF, Rachel! Can't wait to see what Barb & Paula have to add! Oh how I wish I could have gotten there a couple of days earlier!

Great start to the reviews ladies. I so wish I could have been there with you all :grouphug:

FF looks incredible. I have not tried it yet, but it's on the dining bucket list :)

Sorry I don’t have much to add to the Bluezoo part of the evening! I think I even remarked at some point that we weren’t doing such a good job of being Dining Reviewers as none of us were taking pictures!

I do know I had the Serenity drink which I love! Hunter I’m not sure what he had. I think a Rum and Diet though.

Before we even made it to Bluezoo though I made a point of dragging Hunter into the Swan. I knew they had an amazing Holiday display in there!

And here it is! ALL CHOCOLATE!!
