Wow-- I went to vote at 3:30 today. Walked right in, no line, and walked right out. I was in the building a total of maybe 8 minutes.

I was really expecting long lines, too. Wonder if Georgians just aren't bothering since we're not a swing state?

I didn't experience long lines either. I went around 11:15 this morning. The only problem was they couldn't find me on the list b/c they still have me under my maiden name even though in the last election I voted with my married name.

I only had to wait about 15 minutes at 11:30 am. Painless :)

Same here! The whole thing took me 5 minutes. I went at about 12:45 while my oldest was in preschool. Took my 3 yr old and 7 month old with me. Their first time voting, I put the "I voted!" stickers on them. :teeth:

Count yourselves lucky. I attempted earlier this morning and the line was at least 4 hours. It was an absolute zoo. Somebody somewhere ought to be ashamed!

About 45 minutes here in Cobb County at 9:30. DW and DS had a 30 minute wait at 10:30.
I think we'll see record or near record turnout in most places, including Georgia. Quite a few people were braving 2-4 hour lines to vote early which unless they were going to be out of town, probably wasn't necessary.

No wait for me. I voted around 12:30 and was number 336 for my district. :D

My husband and I voted at 9:00 a.m this morning. Walked in, voted and walked out. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes!

Mom said both parking lots at the school where they have voting, and every square inch of the side of the road was filled when she went this morning. People were sitting in their cars waiting just to park. Sort of like when you go to the mall on Christmas Eve.
Then she finally got inside and the line was through the gym, out the doors, and winding down the hallway:eek: And we live in a small town too.

Took me twenty minutes at 6:45am this morning, huge turnout here.....:sunny:

When Dh went to vote at 7:00am there was one man in line ahead of him. When dd and I went this afternoon about 2:00pm there was no one ahead of us.

DH just came back..only 1 person in line. He was # 446 for the day at our district. That is high for us! I live in a very small village, not even 1 square mile, and the whole village doesn't vote at our polling place.

I was in a out in 3 min. Didn't even have to give my name because I know election judge.

herc.

people are waiting 3-5 hours here in Ohio, especially in the
areas that are least affluent. One polling place only has 4
voting machines for 3 precincts and it is expected that people
will still be waiting at midnight.

I took my son to "Kids vote" at 5pm and my friend had been
waiting for 2 hours and 20 minutes. I went at 9:45 and was
out in 45 minutes. It's crazy here in Ohio. The news is reporting
people were locked out of polls and lots of people didn't choose
to stand in 4 hour lines. No chairs for old people. One station
reported that judges were conferring and possible going to rule
on expediting voting by using punchcard absentee ballots.
What a mess. They knew about all the new voters and didn't
make any changes. Ugly.

Took me 5 minutes here (Nassau County, LI, NY) and that includes the time to walk from the car and back.
