No Lightning Lane for Living with the Land?

Today, MDE doesn’t list Living with the Land as a Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction. (It’s not that the LLs are sold out; it’s that the ride is standby only—like PeopleMover.)

Is that just for New Year’s Eve? Why would Disney devalue Genie+ on a day when its price is at an all-time high and the LL availability is already so bad? (It’s 10 am and FEA, TT, and Remy are already sold out for the day—meaning that your $32 could only get you onenn be of those rides at the most.)

I'm looking at the Tip Board and it says the next LL for Living with the Land is at 10:10 AM.

My god, if there ever was an attraction that didn't need an LL it would be Living with the Land. Sometime around five years after it opened, it was almost always a walk on. LL must have caused a different LL, mainly Long Line.

I find the opposite these days. There is usually a 20 minute or so wait. Not always, but usually
A twenty minute wait in WDW is the same as a walk on. It has been years since I have seen any, and I mean any line there. By admission I haven't been there since 2019, but the ride, as nice as it is, has not become more exciting since then.

You obviously weren’t there this week or during Thanksgiving/Spring Break for the last 4-5 years.

Even now the only reason it needs a LL is because of the unavailability of LL on the real popular rides and they want to use one where they can. When it first opened up in the early 80's every switchback was filled up but it still wasn't more then a half hour wait, since then and the 40 years I went there it never had more than 10 people waiting. You are correct though. I made sure I never went there during those times. I pretty much always went during presidents week at the end of February.

Talked to my niece last night who is a CM, said she worked the 24th & 25th and it wasn't bad but they were SLAMMED on the 27th. She specifically mentioned Living with the Land and Three Caballeros having extremely long waits.

Many things have changed since 2019. During the holiday overlay, the Land is quite popular at night. We’ve had more than 10 people waiting in the Lightning Lane!

Well, by definition, a twenty minute wait is not a walk on. Whether Living with the Land is worth the wait or should have a LL is an entirely different discussion. But I would estimate that I have ridden it at least a dozen times since 2019 and only once was it a walk on. In terms of a LL not being necessary, the only attraction I ever see at Epcot where a LL pass is truly never needed is the Pixar Short Film Festival. But the LL will usually save you a little time on this ride
