no jeans...

Nope, jean skirts are okay, especially if paired with a nice shirt/sweater. My DD wore jean or khaki skorts quite a bit, with a pretty top and nice sandals.

does that mean no jean skirts too?

Although I didn't see it much, jeans are allowed now...

"As part of the "Cruise Casual" policy, it is asked that you do not wear tank tops, swimwear or shorts to the dining rooms. Jeans are allowed."

HTH!

you know that is good to hear...the last time I called DCL, castmember started talking bout DCL going more casual.

I was just coming to say that they're allowing Jeans in all of the dining rooms with the exception of Palo. :)

Are you serious? :( Oh well, I guess the people who have worn tanks & shorts wont feel as out of place now.

Wow... I had no idea about this one. I guess they had so many people doing it anyway that they did away with it altogether....

I didn't doubt you ;) more a retorical statement. Just dissappointing to me. I'll continue to dress up for every dinner.

Not a problem lbgraves. I should have posted the link to the info when I first mentioned it. :)

A little disappointing. Won't change how we dress for dinner.

I know my DH will be happy about the news. He will probably still dress up a bit for dinner, but it is nice to know he could wear jeans if he wanted to. :)

Dissapoints me also. When you pay for a lot of money for the cruise, I want eat a litte nicer then typical. That includes being dressed nicer and being around people who dressed nicer. Its unforturnate people can pay 6000 for a cruise but cant dress up. Now DCL has to go more casual so they dont get upset:( I might have to email Tom McAlpin on this one.

I completely agree! People should dress nice for dinner. I don't know about you but we don't have the opportunity to dress up fancy very much where we live so it was a treat to dress up for dinner.

On our cruise, the was a family of four that NEVER dressed up for dinner. Their idea of dressing up was matching basketball and football short sets with a matching terrycloth headband (yes this was all 4 of them including the wife!). When we ate at Tritons they were wearing the scuzziest clothes we had seen yet! The funniest part was that we saw them later that night at one of the shows and they were all dressed to the nines and looked great...we overheard them talking about only getting dressed up for the formal picture! Give ME A Break!

I have to say my husband will be happy that he has the option of wearing Jeans if he wishes.
Saying that if he were to wear them they would be very smart ones with a nice shirt casual jacket etc, he would not wear jeans that he were everyday ones, Does that make sense?
I understand what everyone is saying and agree that it is nice to dress up for Dinner, but I also think that Jeans can look very smart, and your on holiday, you should be able to dress within the guidlines set but feeling comfortable and relaxed.

There are people who look better and classier in jeans than others who dress in Dockers. On the cruise I've seen guys in tuxes that I wouldn't invite to my kid's wedding because their hair was disgusting. Or their table manners were abominable.

I make sure I'm clean, neat, and that I'm dressed appropriately. That being said, I never understood how a dinner can be ruined by being concerned about how OTHER people dress.

It's a Disney cruise, people, not the Rainbow Room.

Remember that jeans have really taken off in the past few years as a "upscale" fashion item. Yeah, I agree that ripped up and dirty jeans always look bad, but some jeans are definitely classier looking than ordinary khakis.

I found this on Disney's website. I can understand that it might not be updated.......so does anyone have something that is official disney that says Jeans are now okay?

What do I bring for evenings?
Let's talk about dinner clothes: We kindly request that no shorts, T-shirts or jeans be worn in any of our restaurants in the evening. Evening attire for the Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay dining rooms is casual. Button-down, open collar shirts or polo shirts and slacks are recommended for men. Pants and a blouse or a casual dress are appropriate for ladies. For Lumière's and Triton's restaurants and our adults-only alternative dinner restaurant, Palo, it is suggested that men wear jackets or a button-down shirt and tie and ladies wear dresses or pantsuits. Aboard our 7-night cruises, one dinner is semi-formal. Another evening requires more formal - or "black-tie-optional"- attire. Tuxedo rentals are available, in advance. Other themed evenings aboard our 7-night cruises that adults might want to pack for include salutes to the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

Are children expected to follow the same dress code as adults?
Each parent or guardian would be the best judge of what attire is appropriate for our youngest cruisers. Guests who are age 13 or older would probably be most comfortable wearing attire similar to what is recommended above for all the ship's passengers.
