No ID for kids, options? UPDATE (see last post)

I don't mean to make the situation even more difficult, but I had a very hard time using a copy of my son's birth certificate for the Birthday promotion. CM absolutely refused to accept the copy, saying that she had to have an original birth certificate. I had to hold my ground and ask for a supervisor who approved it. However, then the CM refused to give me back the copy of the birth certificate saying that she had to throw it away. Obviously I wasn't going to let her keep the birth certificate so I had to go find the supervisor again, who retrieved the certificate for me.

That was a different promotion with different rules. The CM was correct as the promotion stated no copies. They were looking for original or certified BC.

All went well. We didn't even have time for vitalchek- we were leaving the next day when I posted. I was really caught by surprise that they were missing.

We went to the MK on the day we planned and the CM asked for the bc's for the kids. I told him I was unable to find them and didn't have time to order new ones, showed him their ss cards. He said he still was unable to accept that. I asked if he could accept it if I applied for their birth certificates on my iphone right there and showed the confirmations (vitalchek). He said he could accept that. I got one into my cart and most of the way through the next one when he decided to simply look at the ss cards and issue the tickets.

Now, I'm aware that he could have not even accepted my ordering the bc's in his presence- but he did seem to take this as a sign that I was doing my best to follow the intent of the rule and made the decision that these were indeed my children who were listed on the GAD certificates. We were relieved to not have to spend the extra $170 for their tix!

On a side note, I was so nervous about getting the older kids' GAD certificates exchanged that I forgot my 6yo's multi-day ticket (we had also moved from POR to BLT that morning- all before 9am). So then I had to go to Guest Services to get another ticket issued for her (or walk back to BLT and our van to search...I thought guest services was likely to be able to fix it faster). We got into the park a little later than we wanted...it was almost 10am by this time, but we got our wonderful long and (mostly) free day at the MK!
