Does anyone know why they are not doing the Christmas show for the country bear jamboree? I read it on another board and felt badly because it is one of my daughter's favorites. She will be very disappointed. Thanks for any insight. :confused3

I don't know why, but I'm bummed about it, too. I've never been to WDW at Christmas before so this year was going to be my first year to be able to see it. :sad2:

Nope, no Christmas show for the bears.

We only ever go at Christmas time, so this will be our first chance to see the classic before it gets the inevitable overhaul (or the ax) to make it "hip" for a bigger crowd draw.

R.I.P. classic Tiki birds and COP . . .

Good riddence. Country Bear is the #1 attraction in all 4 parks that needs to be replaced.

Okay, its not the greatest, most technologically advanced show by ANY means but, honestly with it's location in WDW, I hope they never remove it. It's a classic that just needs to be there. The thing is, it's in a place at WDW where there's not much else you could do with it. You can't put a ride there and really the theatre is too small for any really popular show. It's just in a perfect spot to be left alone and stay.

Now, I DO think they should COMPLETELY refurbish it and rebuild the bears from the ground up and COMPLETELY reproduce the show.

I agree 100%. It's a classic. And I can't think of anything else they could do with the space either. There are some people that really enjoy it. It's something I remember from when I was little. It could use a refurbishing, though.

I hope they don't get rid of it. It is one of my favorites! I look forward to it everytime we go! :)

I wrote WDW Guest Relations about this, since we're taking a couple of children down for the first time during the holidays. They called me back and did confirm no show this year and the way the CM was talking it sounded like it was being retired for good.

I am probably one of the few... But I REALLY missed it when they got rid of it at disneyland and replaced it with the pathetic pooh ride. Don't get me wrong, I love pooh, but I expeced a lot more from a new dark ride. Maybe the one in MK is better.

During the crowded weekend days at DL the bears was a great place to sit in A/C and get off your feet. Of course this was pre fast pass, so you had to wait in ACTUAL lines back then! I have not seen the WDW bears in 19 years, and look forward to watching it with my 23 month and 4 year old in 3 weeks.

I would have loved seeing the attraction all Xmas-like. I do not think I ever saw that in DL or even if they did that there.

However, if they get enough outcry from the public regarding this issue, the Bears' Xmas show might return next year.

I'll miss the Christmas Bear show, its a must every year for me, I'll still go to see the original show, The Country Bears, its still a classic, they should be a permanent fixture, at least I can hope .
