Would your boss send you home? Ours told us to add a layer. It's 58 in the offices and about 62 in the labs......... :cold: :cold: :cold:

:cold: One layer? I think I'd need about 20! :cold:

my part of our office is perpectually cold, but there is no way they'd ever send us home. in the winter we frequently work in coats and hats!

Horrible isn't it. They called HVAC repair, said we need new heat system. It's not like they're not trying to fix it. But I think they should at least let us go for the day.

My DH works in an office building that has recently been purchased by a young woman. The thermostat controls are in her office and it is locked as she is rarely there. His office has been running around 60° and he has been wearing his coat while sitting at his desk. He talked to her yesterday and she seemed completely oblivious that the building was so cold! Is that cold-blooded or what!??

No way I would work in an office that is 58 freakin' degrees! Geez, 68 is a little too cold for me! If it were me, I'd tell them I'm taking work home and will be available by email or phone. Crazy!

Assuming the heat system won't be installed by tomorrow or Monday, they really can't send everyone home today or else they start a precidence and people will expect to be able to stay home everyday until the heat system is installed. I'm assuming your company can't shut down that long.

Our office has been that cold on numerous occasions...they never send us home.

BUT, this past summer our air conditioner broke in the middle of a nasty heatwave and we were allowed to leave if we wanted to.

I agree with Steve.
It's either perpetually hot or perpetually cold in my building, depending on which area you are in. Where I am located it's usually about 62 in the winter.
