For those of you who don't get the ground transfers and drive the rental car to the port from Orlando - how do you get back to MCO upon the end of your cruise? We want to spend a week in Orlando and would prefer to just keep the car, but don't know what it will cost to get back to the airport. Also, I've seen Budget mentioned. Is that the closest drop off to the port or are their others? Thanks for the help for a cruise newbie.

From what I have learned on these boards is that there a a few options to pick from. 1) You can go for the DCL transfers round trip...which dosen't sound like that's what you want to do. 2) Drive the rental car to the port and (a) turn it in prior to getting on the ship..then renting a car again for the return trip to the airport, or (b) parking the rentalthat you have had in the parking lot to have it there for when you retrun...which dosen't make alot of sense to me...to pay for a car rental for a whole week to have it parked the whole time...not to mention having to pay for the week of parking fees. 3) Go with a town car service that will pick you up at the port...help with your baggage and drop you off at the airport. and 4) do the DCL transfer one way, just from the port back to the airport.

That's a few options to select from. At first we were going to drive our rental car down to the port, return it and pick up another rental for one way to get us back to the airport. But now we have decided to do the town car service both ways...seems so much more relaxing and easy....Our only problem now is picking which service to go with.

we had such a killer deal last Nov on a 15 passenger van, it was actually cheaper to park it at the port than to get two one-way rental car ressies.

You can make arrangements with Budget (or another agency in the port/cape area) to pick you up at the terminal at a predetermined time - or maybe you can call them after you disembark and they can be there probably in less than 1/2 an hour.

This time we're doing a one way rental from MCO to Port C, then the disney transfers back to MCO since we're flying out the day we disembark the ship.

Budget will pick you up at the white tent in the parking lot when you disembark. I am pretty sure other agencies had shuttles running from there as well. No need to make arrangements ahead of time for them to pick you up.

We're doing a 4/3 land/sea and I'm just parking the rental car in Disney lot at Port Canaveral ... seems easier than dealing with renting two cars or a car then a ground transfer.

It is very easy to do the two one-way car rentals. The shuttles for all of the agencies stop at the cruise terminals. There is no need to schedule anything.
