No Grammys Thread?

I suppose everyone, like me, found better things to do, such as watching paint dry.

I caught several minutes at the beginning. Beyonce won 2 PRE-Grammy awards that weren't televised. Then she one another award when the show first started. That was historic for the Grammys as she topped out as the winner with the most Grammys ever. Yet, for all three awards, she & Jay-Z were stuck in their limo, in the Grammy's traffic jam, still on the way to the Grammy. :sad2:

I didn't know most of the other winners after that, so I turned the channel.

Reason enough not to do them. I would not know any either. :confused3 Well, maybe a few, a very few.

I stopped watching the Grammys & MTV awards, way back, when the only two artists I knew were Madonna and Michael Jackson.

I generally don't watch any of those award shows since they all have the same boring format. Whomever is host tells a lot of inside jokes that won't mean anything to most of us. The winners all try to say something funny even when they aren't good at comedy. Singers try to outdo each other with who can have the most bizarre performance. I don't see any point in those 'red carpet' shows when everyone is arriving and they try to interview them never watch those. Who cares? Maybe there should be an award for the strangest outfit............LOL.

Did watch a few minutes of the grammy's last night while channel flipping. No idea who most of nominees were and the lighting seemed terrible. Everytime they tried to show the audience there was this annoying red lighting that made it very hard to see anyone.

As for the red lighting, I wouldn't know because I've never watched. But I am told the attire is often appropriate for a red light district. Not that I'd know what that even means being pure as the driven snow as I am.

I really enjoyed last night's Grammys. The 50 years of hip hop had me dancing on my sofa, the Stevie Wonder medley was awesome, and there were some really great acceptance speeches. The more I hear Lizzo talk, the more of a Lizzo fan I become. <3

I can't remember that last time I watched any awards show.
I didn't watch the Grammys, but at least I had heard of SOME of the winners.
I don't watch the Oscars because I haven't heard of most of the movies, and haven't been to a movie in over 3 years.
I don't watch the Emmys because I haven't heard of most of the shows, and many of them are Cable shows like on HBO. Not sure why they are even eligible for an Emmy, that's what the Cable Ace awards were for.

I do listen to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 every Saturday morning on 70's on 7 and take part in the discussion on Twitter. Some amazing music was produced then, although it is interesting at how bad some of the top sellers were. And there are always a few songs my wife and I have no recollection of in the countdown.

I actually watched a movie on Netflix. It's probably only the third time I have watched Netflix in a year!!

For those interested....the movie was called You People. It was way more interesting than I think the Grammy's would have been for me.

My grandkids do call me Grammy if that merits anything. :)
