No frozen FP...but 8:15 at Akerhsus?

I could not get a FP for frozen but I do have an 8:15 res. I've asked around and most friends seem to think I will not get out in time to catch Frozen before the crowds. Are they likely to take us early if we arrive at 8!?

I have the same issue. Our ADR is 8:05am. At 60 days out when booking fastpasses it was the first one I looked for. Earliest time avaiable was after 11am So I figure standby line will be awful by the time we finish eating.

You can be seated when you arrive if it's earlier than your ADR; however, you will be able to see maybe two, three princesses tops before having to race out to get in line for FEA at about 8:45. Not sure if that pricey princess breakfast is worth cutting that short.

Thanks, this is helpful. Although now I'm still torn between my 8:15 akershus and my 8:10 PM!! CRT. Ugh

We just did this exact thing in September. Our ADR was 8am, but they were taking pretty much everyone in the 8-8:20ish window at the same time for seating. We met every princess, ate all the food and our kids did the princess parade and we were out the door in plenty of time. The RD crowd was stampeding towards the line, but we jumped in as we saw them coming. We were off the ride by 9:13am. We did ask for our check as soon as we sat down, so it was settled and we could leave as soon as the kids did the princess parade. It worked out just fine!

Keep in mind that if the ride is down, you'll get nowhere. I was in the park and lined up about 100 people back at 8;50. Ride didn't open until 10:25. If you come out a hair after rope drop folks are there, you'll find yourself at the end of a verrrry long line

Wow! Thanks! It seems most people think it won't work....this is hopeful!

Why would you want to rush a very expensive meal?
I don't exactly want to rush an expensibe meal. But I would like to get on Frozen without waiting 2 hours and not sure if there is a better way?? Do you have another suggestion? Or would you do the meal, take your time, and just suck it up and stand in the long line?

I would suck it up. Is the ride worth $50 or so per person to you? Because that's about how much you're tossing aside having to cut it short.

I should mention that I am speaking from direct experience- my mum and I had an 8:20 reservation in September for Akershus, were seated at 8:05 after the photo with Belle, and made sure to ask for our cheque as soon as we sat down. Even though we rushed through the food and coffees, and were only able to meet three princesses (keep in mind they don't actually start walking around until about 8:20), we still did not leave until 8:45.

If you're after the princess meal, I'd either relax and enjoy that one and say come what may for FEA (also keep in kid they don't issue FO for the ride until 11:00, so earlier will still be better), or cancel Akershus, do FEA at rope drop, and keep CRT for dinner.

The Akershus meal is not designed to be a Frozen Ride Dinner Package. The FastPass system is there's for that purpose.

I just think it feels like "gaming the system" - plus it's a lot of money for one ride that is not even meant to be that amazing.

I have absolutely no idea how it's gaming the system. Perhaps if the reservation was made and they didn't turn up at all. However I don't see the issue at all to them doing the meal and then trying to get the ride in.

This strategy worked out great for me. We got there early and were seated quickly. We settled our check right away (I mean, the staff knows your plan, haha, they know the drill) and got to quickly meet all the princesses, but cut out before they did their little parade or whatever. As we exited the restaurant, we could see that wall of people coming, but we were fine and rode with no line. Our reservation was at 8:15 but I think we were seated closer to 8:05. I would get to the park by 7:45. Good luck!

Also, gaming the system, really? Disney designed it this way, so people would pay for the breakfast for a quiet, early entrance and first access to the high-wait rides. Everyone knows what they're really paying for.

Agree with second poster here...how can it be "gaming the system" if they pay the full price for their meal? It's just a strategy to get on FEA without a FP. Sometimes it works, other times not.

We also could not get a FP for Frozen, and decided to try it at park closing. We hopped in line at 9:00 with a 45 min posted wait time. 17 minutes later, we were on the ride. I would suggest doing this instead of rushing your breakfast.
