That was kind of expected. I think Australia noted similar things over their winter--something like an 80% reduction in flu cases due to more people working from home, distancing, and masking. As for masks, they are more effective on influenza than coronavirus as the influenza particles are larger.

I don't think it's realistic that everyone should from now on, but it would be nice to normalize and encourage anyone who is feeling "under the weather" or who has a little cold to wear one out in public.So why haven't we worn Masks every Flu Season and should we from now on?

I think people grossly (pun intended) overestimated how often the general public washed their hands prior to this pandemic.
