No Expire Ticket Question

My family is planning a trip to FW in June 2009. We know we want park hopper tickets. When we go, our kids will be 15 & 10. This will probably be the only time we will be able to go with them before they both go off to college and leave the house on their own. Our question is with the tickets. We know we want at least 7 day hoppers now, knowing we will probably not use all the days so we will buy the no expiration option. Later on down the road when the kids are off to college, can my wife and I use the kids hopper passes for ourselves or do the passes get tied to an individual?

Unless something has changed recently, the tickets are not "branded" to any individual, so you should be able to use any unused days at any time in the future.

I'm not sure with the campground..I assume it's the same as the resorts. Our last trip in May we purchased a package that included the resort room and the park passes. We receieved them upon check in. The room key is also your park pass, and when you go to the park you provide a fingerprint scan.

Now perhaps with a pass purchased seperately say at the Disney store or at the park and a "site only" or "room only" reservation it may be different. I've had room only reservations before and used unexpired passes from previous trips. Only when I purchased those park passes the fingerprint scan was not in effect. Personally, I think the whole scan thing is a crock, I've seen them have to go through twice and still not work, and they just send the people through. In which case you could use the kids passes. That could get a bit awkward though. Personally if you don't plan to go again in the near future, I'd buy the ones that expire..they are less money. If and when you go again, you'll just purchase the pass you need for the two of you for the days needed. I used to always buy the no expiration..but since our last trip, I opted for more days and having them expire at the end of the trip. This way I was able to go to the parks as often as we wanted for the duration of the trip.

No, tickets are non-transferable. The first time you use them, you give your "fingerprint" when you go through the gate. (Actually it reads the pattern between your fingers). If you try to use somebody else's ticket, it will not let you in.

We also are planning a trip for April of 2009 and went to AAA to price the theme park tickets. It was only a few dollars more for a 10 day pass than it was for a 7 day pass, and no expire tickets were twice as much. I say just buy what you need for this trip because once you use them they are tied to that person. Park hopper 10 day adult ticket at AAA was 275.00. Of course you can always buy your wifes and yours with no expire and just get the kids what they need for this trip.

This is your best bet. You know WDW ticket prices will never come down.

That is the best idea, as long as you're buying everything separately. If you're booking a package, then everyone has to have the same tickets, when you book.

Until you get there and check in. Then, you can have them add the N/E option to just you and your wife's tickets.

I know that is what Disney wants everyone to believe, however, DH & I have used each others AP's numerous times, DBro & I have used each others passes (he got park-hoppers at SOG & I have an AP), my friend & her daughter have used each others passes - no problems! Besides, I don't think it would be legal or logistically practical for Disney to record fingerprints of any kind. Think of the volume of people that pass thru the turnstiles each day!! They would have to have an enormous storage system to record information. JMHO - I don't have any facts to back myself up - just personal experience.

When we go there are 4 of us and we have used each others tickets. I know Disney groups the bio details by ticket groups bought togeather. So therefore the OP could feasably buy four 10 day no-expire tickets and then use the kids unused portions on another trip. I would doubt you can use tickets bought by someone else at a different time. They would have a diferent bio measurements recorded. And if challenged you could not prove you purchased them.
