No expiration tickets

My trips are generally longer---typically 6-8 days. So, that either means expiring tickets or an AP, depending on whether or not two fall in a single calendar year.

Mousesaver's confirms they are being phased out as indicated by the website and the option no longer appearing at the ticket windows.

that's really what you took away from this?

No Expiration Ticket Option May No Longer Be Offered Soon

...I believe it is likely that Disney will be eliminating the No Expiration option on Magic Your Way tickets very soon, probably when the MyMagic+ system with RFID-tagged tickets/wristbands is rolled out.

looks more like speculation than confirmation to me.

i'm sure undercovertourist appreciates the extra business though...

Have any of you purchased through Undercover Tourist. Are they reliable? do the tickets look the same as the tickets purchased directly from Disney?

I just checked the Disney site and the option to purchase no expiration seems to still be available.

I could however save $200 by buying 4 10-day parkhopper no expiration through Undercover Tourist, but am hesitant. I need confirmation that they are reputable!

i have only used mapleleaftickets personally but undercovertourist has a great reputation on the DIS boards and i would feel comfortable using them...

UndercoverTourist has a good reputation here on the boards. I've never used them. The one time I tried, the site (or my banks) kept declining the credit cards...likely a loss prevention thing because there is so much fraud in Florida.

I purchased tickets last year from them. I called and ordered, due to timeframe being close to our trip. Tickets arrived quickly.

I've used undercover tourist for the past two trips, and I've sent me in-laws to the site for their upcoming trip. They are great. You end up with a ticket separate from your room key, but that was worth it for the money saved. Reputable. Reliable. Recommended by my Fisney travel agent friend.

I ordered a ticket from UC last Monday, and they arrived by Friday (I was out of town, so I'm not sure if they arrived before Friday). They look like the tickets you would get from the Disney ticket counter. If you did a Magic Your Way package, your park ticket is also your room key, so they do not look like those tickets.

Thank you all for your replies. Up until now we have only done non expiration tickets as it gives our family the best flexibility given our 3-4 night per year travel pattern.

I guess I will try Undercover Tourist tomorrow to buy our next set. We still have enough days for our 2013 trip but I would hate to lose the ability to buy more of these tickets in the near future.

UT is an authorized Disney ticket reseller. They get MYW tickets directly from Disney at wholesale prices.

We have used Undercover Tourist for more than 20 tickets over the years, and never had a problem. This past year we bought 6 day parkhoppers in June, before the price increase, but after the DVC premium annual pass discount was announced, we decided to upgrade to annual passes.

On December 30th, four of us used the tickets to enter the MK, and then went right to Guest Relations inside the park to do the upgrade. We were credited for $335 plus tax for our tickets (the current value) even though we had paid far less than that for the tickets in June from UT. We only had to pay the $64 difference, plus tax, for a total of $68.16 to convert to the DVC annual pass. (the CM originally told us it would be far more, but when I explained it should be only $64 plus tax, he called another CM to help, and they did what Cheshire Figment calls a "bridge ticket" to get the price down to the correct level.) So, UT tickets are upgradable if you need to add days, or change options.

More importantly, for your piece of mind, our son and his girlfriend were joining us in the park later that evening. However, they called us when they arrived at BLT and told us they had left their park tickets in the car at the airport in our home city. We had made photocopies of the back of the tickets, and had those photocopies with us. Even though the tickets had been purchased from UT, we were able to take those photocopies to Guest relations outside the park and they cancelled the forgotton tickets and reissued replacements on the spot.

It actually makes sense to eliminate the no expiration option for tickets if they go all to wrist bands and no finger scanners to prevent use by more than one person and the selling of unused days on the black market.

Chuck that is not the half of it.
The IT dept. there at WDW is in it's second year of a 5 year project, they are gone to the NGE and the RFID braclet which replaces;....all tickets, room resort keys , fast pass, and gives you all the buying capabilities you need while on WDW property.

What will happen if you buy non expiration tickets now and show up in 10 or 15 years with them?

It really still is the best alternative for our family.:confused3

Disney still accepts all forms of pre-MYW tickets. It used to be that all multi-day tickets wewre non-expiring .

The only real restriction Disney has added to previous tickets was pre-DAK tickets were not valid for DAK..but they relaxed that policy.

I purchased non expiring tickets the other day from undercover tourist site. I have done it before and had no problems. When I looked at the Disney web site on my desk top it did not give me the option to buy non expiring tickets. When I looked at the site through my wifes IPAD it gives me the option to buy the non expiring tickets. (Just wanted to check the price difference on the Disney site) Strange!!!

I ordered several 10 day NE tickets. I figured as DVC owners we have prepaid our lodging, makes sense to prepay tickets. :) I wish I had the money years ago when the NE tickets were a real bargain.
I have used Undercover tourist in the past with no issues. If you have Sunshine Rewards, you can get another $2.50 per purchase there.

That is how we feel as well. Now that we will most likely go for shorter 2-4 day trips, non-expiring tickets can really save us a lot. Especially with the magic and more option, we could be using them 3-4 years from now for waterpark visits. I wish my bank(s) would hurry up on 1099-INT/DIV forms, etc. so I can file for my taxes to pay for the tickets I will be buying.

You could take off the wristband and hand it to someone else. From what I understand, they can be removed and you don't even have to put it on your wrist if you choose.

That was my point. If they had gone solely to wristbands, with no means of identification, like the finger scans, those wrist bands with no expiration would show up as "discounted" admission at not-so-reputable ticket places and on ebay. It would make sense to discontinue the no expiration option.

If they continue some sort of positive ID system while using the wristbands, then there would be no compelling reason to discontinue the option of no expiration.
