I leave in 16 days and still do not have my DME tag from my AAA TA. I stopped by on Saturday and my paperwork & AAA luggage tag were there, but no DME tag. The agent was on the phone & had people at her desk, so I left a message for her to call me about this, but have not heard from her. Should I be concerned? Should I call DME directly with my flight information and book my reservations & request the tag through them?

You can try calling DME yourself. But because AAA officially 'owns' the reservation at this point, they may not be much help. But...give them a call. What's the worst that can happen. And they may be able to give you the info you need...are you in their system. They may also send you out the packet but that may be asking for too much.

If you can at least verify that you do have the reservation, then you can take your baggage claim tickets to the ME desk and they will retrieve your luggage for you.

Ok. Gave my flight information in August to one of the 2 AAA agents I've been dealing with. Sent an e-mail confirming the flight details on 9/2 and ensuring that the DME tag & boarding passes had been ordered. Got an e-mail from him that all of the flight information was entered into DME and that the tags should arrive at any time.

Called my local AAA office and spoke to the other agent I've been dealing with. She asked me for my flight information, which I gave her, then informed me that the other agent never entered the information into DME, that no tags or boarding passes had been ordered and that I will have to go to the baggage claim, get my luggage, then go to DME, get my boarding passes, then bring my luggage to the bus to be put under, then get my luggage from the bus at the hotel.

WHAT???? :headache: What was the point of giving the flight details to the other agent to begin with??? I asked her why the information was never entered and she did not know. She said she would call DME and give them the flight information, but doubted I would have anything before I leave.

The AAA TA just called me back to say that she spoke with DME and they will send them out and should arrive within the next 7-10 days. Fingers crossed.

Even if your packet never comes, ignore the TA "advice".

Instead, go directly from the plane to the Welcome Center; the CM will note your claim check numbers and someone from DME will go to baggage claim and get your luggage, and send it to the sorting center.

We leave in 18 days. Our AAA TA said that she is still waiting for our DME tags too. She said that the tags are not printed by Disney any more. They are printed by an outside company. What's that old saying, "too many cooks spoil the soup." I wish Disney would leave things alone that are not broken. :headache:

I just wanted to reiterate what these previous posters said, so as to ease your mind. I screwed up and didn't have ME added to my reservation when I first made it (like I thought) so I added it last week. We leave this Saturday morning and I still haven't received my tags (unless they are in today's mail in the box at home)...
But when I asked the cast member what I could do if we didn't receive them in time, he politely said I could bring my Southwest luggage claim tags to the DME folks at the desk, and they would see that my bags were retrieved.

Hope that brings you some more reassurance, JUST IN CASE you don't get your tags! :thumbsup2

Received my DME luggage tag & vouchers yesterday. Whew!!

Somewhat related question. Split stay, blt and akv. We have our tags and booklet to get us to bit. I either misplaced or never received the booklet for akv which covers our return to mco. Will I need the voucher from the booklet or will just the letter we get under our door be sufficient? Thanks.

The letter you get will be fine - that's all we needed yesterday.

Thank you. I have torn my desk apart looking for something we may not have actually received. I did however find the booklet sent for a reservation we canceled last month.
