No Disney Trick-or-Treating?

I have heard there is no trick or treating at DTD this year, because it gets so crowded. Will there be trick or treating elsewhere in other parks? Does anyone know if this is a permanent thing?

I didn't even know that there was trick or treating in DTD. We went to the MNSSHP years ago and we only did the MK park.

I know the party still has trick or treating in MK during the party.

I've also heard of people going around wilderness campground.

Went to WDW two years ago for Halloween and went to the Boardwalk resort for the Halloween party and we all had a blast. On our ride back to our home resort we got talking to a family who was at DTD for Halloween trick or treating. He told us it was so bad with the crowds and how rude some people were just to get candy.
From his account it was wall to wall people he said it was almost like being in MK on Christmas day. Too me that is too crowded just for candy...

This isn't surprising. Disney is a corporation; it wants to make money. Which makes more sense?

a.) give away free candy at a site with free parking
b.) sell guests -- many of whom already purchased multi-day passes -- a hard ticket event so they can get dressed up and get free crappy candy

Hmmmm... let me think about that one...
