What the heck? I was just talking with a friend about her upcoming trip in September and I asked her if she took advantage of the FD promo. She said that her trip dates didn't fall in that promotion. Sure enough, I looked and FD doesn't start until 9/30. What the heck?!?!?!?

September is one of the least crowded times at WDW and they aren't offering ANY discounts except for the last day of the month?

Were there discounts available but expired maybe?

Nevermind.... there was a previous offer for free dining for this month but it had to be booked by May 18th!
DATES AVAILABLE: August 25-September 29, 2012
MUST BE BOOKED BY: May 18th, 2012.

A ha! I thought I remembered seeing a FD promotion...

Darn...it's a shame my friend can't take advantage of it.

Thanks meetmeinmontauk!

I had to laugh when I read the title of this thread, because all I see are September discounts! AP discounts - September. Florida Residents - September. September, September everywhere! I'm wanting December, and soooooo tired of waiting for something other than FD (which does little for a solo staying deluxe) to come out.

I guess we all get a little too focused on our own quest sometimes :). Sorry your friend missed on the FD promo for September.

Sorry, but I had to giggle a little bit at your post...I'm a huge Brady Bunch fan and all I can think of is Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!

Fla4fun....sorry you are having difficulties finding a discount that works for you. I can see where FD wouldn't be the greatest of promos for you.....

Here's hoping a GP 30% off or a PIN code comes your way soon!

I guess you were my good luck charm! They released a GP RO offer for fall this morning that covered half my dates at 25% and half at 30%. I even got my first choice of resort and room type. I'm still hoping for better AP rates, but I can live with this.

Woo hoo! I'm so happy for you! Glad to be of assistance. ;)

I finally got that AP rate and saved another $200 - they say patience is a virtue, but I have to admit, I haven't had a lot of it waiting for discounts this year.

Any luck finding something usable for September? I still see AP and Resident rates, but I'm guessing your friend doesn't qualify. Do they qualify for AAA or have you checked third party sites like Expedia, etc., to see if they have any discounts? Sometimes the third party sites will be similar prices to offers going on at Disney - so it's worth a look. It sounds like they have a RO reservation, so I wouldn't give up until I got down to the cancellation deadline a week out.

Nope...my friends have a package booked with a TA. Bummer!

I'm glad you finally got an AP discount. And I hear ya about lacking patience when it comes to discounts....waiting is the hard part! :)

How long is your friend going for? If they could save over $300 on a room it might be worth bumping 1 of their tickets up to an AP to get the AP discount. She could then buy a TIW card and save on their meals if paying OOP for food. Depends how many in the party if the TIW cost is worth the savings she'd receive

They would also have to consider any penalty from cancelling a package within 45 days, since their trip is in September. That might be the sticking point when it comes to changing.
