No confirmation #, when can I make ADRs?

Hi everyone! We have a trip planned for the first week of May. However, we can't actually book this trip until the end of Novemeber. When will I be able to make ADRs since I don't have an actual confirmation #? Thanks!

180 days from the date you want to dine, one day at a time. Or wait until 180 days from your last dining day and make one call to book everything.

You don't need a resort confirmation # to book ADRs. People who stay offsite or who are just visiting for the day can use the ADR system as well - it's open to everyone once you hit the 180 day mark from when you plan on dining at the restaurant.

When you make the reservation it just asks your name, address, phone number, and in some cases a credit card number to hold the reservation. The CC only is charged if you don't show up. There are a few restaurants that may charge your CC right away (like CRT) but I'm not sure how that works with DDP. I'm sure there's a thread on here about that somewhere!

You can if you are staying onsite... but you need your conf. # to do it. OP didn't book her trip yet, so she doesn't have a conf. #.

Thanks everyone!!! So, since I don't have a confirmation # yet I can't call at the 180 day mark & do all my ADRs for my entire trip? Oh well, crossing my fingers I get all the ADRs I want!!!

Correct. If you want 5 days of reservations and want to make them all at the earliest possible moment, you will have to call on 5 days.

Okay, I'm new at this so bear with me. We booked a vacation on Disney and got confirmation #'s. After that we decided to Rent DVC points and do that. I haven't cancelled the Disney reservation yet. Can I book all of our ADR's at once with that Confirmation #? What happens to our ADR's when I cancel that booking through disney?
