No comments at all..the good, the bad or the ugly?

I posted 2 pictures and wanted comments on them. 30 people have looked but nothing said.

I am new to the Canon S2 IS and am just starting to really learn to use it. I think that I had it in the scene mode, not at home so can't check. What mode would you have used? Any suggestions?

I have seen the wonderful pictures that you have taken and would really like your opinion.
