Now that Crystal Palace will be closed for refurb while we are at Disney in February there aren't any character meals for boys in the park. We are hoping to get ADR for Chef Mickey's, but were else can we go for a good boy character meal? I was hoping for Liberty Tree Tavern, but heard that isn't a character meal anymore.
Bummed.

I told my fried to try 1900 Park Fare for her boys 9 & 6. They are not into anything girlie but I told her to try it. The step sisters are a real hoot!

Well at first they kept saying there were no boys except ones that had sisters, but finally another family with just boys came in and they were finally able to enjoy it.

They were glad they gave it a try.

My DS LOVED the character meal at CRT when he was 5 and again when he was 8. The castle decor is not very "girlie" at all, with lots of armor and tapestries (he was really into knights and swords at the time), and the princesses made quite a fuss of his manly charms. Prince Charming and Aladdin were also there when we went (this was years ago, though, I'm not sure if Aladdin still appears).

There is a rumor that Liberty Tree will have character dinners during the time that Crystal Palace is closed. Keep an eye out for that. If you want breakfast, also try Ohana.

I agree with TCD Nala, try 'Ohana. We went there on our last trip and my boys loved it. Of course it doesn't hurt that Stitch is their favorite character.

"O'hana's Best Friends Breakfast" at the POLY.
This is one of the best Character meals.
The Characters are Lilo, Stitch, Pluto and Mickey
(they are all dressed in Hawaiian attire).
There is a Parade with the characters around the
restaurant. They have typical breakfast foods, eggs,
potatoes, meats (bacon ect), fruits (pineapple, melons, grapes),
Pineapple bread, Mickey waffles,
Special mixed juice POG (Pineapple, orange and guava--which is very good)
I also found there coffee to be good.
The Character interaction is very good--
stitch plays tricks, Lilo is sweet, Pluto sneaks around,
Mickey is Mickey.
I think you'll love this meal.
It's also easy to get to from MK if you are not staying at the
POLY-Just hop on the MOnorail--you can also go back to MK
on the Monorail. Have fun!

I have also heard the rumor's about LTT having chracter's while CP is closed. I would also recommend Garden Grill for dinner at Epcot. It had Chip and Dale, Pluto, Goofy and Mickey when we went in 08. Very good combo for boys, and you can't beat Chef Mickey's for characters, all of the classics are there.

I agree with the other posters that the breakfast with Stitch at O'hana is great! My sons love it! We usually take the monorail there to eat and then take it back to MK to enjoy a day at the park. :stitch:

Like other pp have stated, Ohana breakfast is a good one for boys. It has Stitch, Mickey, and I think Pluto or Goofy(but not 100% sure). My son loved it.:thumbsup2

1900 park fare used to have a villan dinner with all the bad guys now it's Cinderella my daughter is covered but, my son not so much so we opted for the pirate adventure for him and T-rex because dinosaurs are cool!!

I'm still waiting for Disney to make a pirate themed character meal :rolleyes1

There was talk.......

This kind of makes me think about the new Fantasyland expansion. Where's the boy stuff??

A few years back, my friend and I ate at Tony's in Town Square. We arrived, sat down, and were promptly greeted by.... Tigger??

Turns out there was a refurb on the Crystal Palace, so they shifted the characters over to Tony's for the duration. That may be a possibility, or the LTT rumors could be true. Probably better to keep an ear open and make a PS once the rumors are being shouted from the rooftops ;)

I agree with a PP, I found CRT to be pretty manly. Yeah sure, you will only see princesses but the decor is pretty unisex and the boys are given swords to wish with. They also address the children by princess and prince.

In fact we had a boy (about 5) sitting next to us who was having a blast! I sword fought with him... he won ;)

I don't understand why people assume a Princess Meal cannot be enjoyed by a boy....such a stereotypical comment. I know plenty of little boys that are totally enamored with the princesses and have crushes on them. Also as others have said the castle is a cool place to eat for both girls AND BOYS. If you really don't want to do CRT you could always stop at Chef Mickeys...a quick monorail ride/walk to MK.

I have a dd5 and ds9 and a ds7. We went to 1900 park fare. The boys hated it. I would not take them back again. Next year I am going to take my daughter to germany to see princesses and my husband will take the boys to the place at epcot with chip and dale. There is no way I would waste the money or dinning credits to take the boys to the castle. And my boys are pretty easy going. We all loved Chef mickey's and O'hanas. We will do them next year.

I agree the 'Ohana Stitch breakfast is great! I dragged DS (12 at the time) to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and he ended up loving the Mad Hatter. He was an absolute riot. Pooh & Tigger were there as well along with Alice and Mary Poppins.

We took DS to CRT for lunch when he was 8. He said he was only going because I wanted to eat in the Castle. He ended up enjoying himself. The princesses made such a fuss over him. Snow White actually sat down & talked about his first plane ride because she had never been on a plane. It was really fun.

Course this year he will be almost 14 and once again Mom wants to eat in the Castle. We are doing dinner so it is a little less 'princess-y'. DH and I will get the pic with Cinderella!
